Fans have gotten accustomed to seeing Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd. However, her nephew, Sam Vanderpump, is also currently in the spotlight, appearing on Made in Chelsea, a U.K.-based reality show. Recently, Sam bravely opened up about struggling with liver disease and his need for a transplant.
Sam is the son of Lisa’s brother, Mark Vanderpump, who passed away in 2018. He has been open about how supportive the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been since his dad died. Sam also has a brother, Jack Vanderpump, but he’s less in the public eye.
According to US Weekly, Sam made the revelation about his battle with liver disease during the October 27 episode of Made in Chelsea. This was during a conversation with co-star Ollie Locke. Sam said, “We had a call from the doctors, and I’ve got end-stage liver disease.”
He continued to recall the conversation, saying, “There is no hope of my liver getting better, and he said, ‘I wouldn’t be having this call with you if I thought you could make it through the next four or five years.’ They’re sending me for a liver transplant assessment.”
When asked how he felt about the diagnosis, Sam responded, “The way I look at it, I’m healthy now. Hopefully, I remain healthy all the way up until one day [when] they’ll give me a call, and I’ll go in for a surgery. And then I wake up and I’ll be healthier.”
Sam first joined Made in Chelsea during the show’s 27th season. The series is currently in its 30th season, and Lisa recently made a brief appearance. This came as Sam and his fiancée, Alice Yaxley, told the former RHOBH star that they were expecting a child together.
Sam and Alice announced their engagement in March 2025 after six months together. The couple also announced the news of the pregnancy to the world in September. They wrote on Instagram, “Life is full of surprises, but this is the best one yet. I can’t put into words how happy and excited we are! 🤍”
