Season 12 of Married to Medicine is currently airing on Bravo, and Dr. Heavenly Kimes is back, but as a friend of the show this time. Recently, the Bravo star with political aspirations opened up about her son’s arrest and why Toya Bush-Harris comments on the matter got under her skin.

Heavenly’s son, Damon Kimes Jr., was arrested in February 2023 for aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer. The Married to Medicine star has been open about the fact that she didn’t learn of his arrest until much later and that she got the news from social media.

Per Bravo, Heavenly and Dr. Damon Kimes discussed the legal matter during the December 7 episode. The discussion began with her campaign for Georgia State Representative, which has now become a run for Congress. Specifically, Heavenly expressed to her husband that it’s crucial for him not to keep secrets from her, especially when running for office.

She told him, “If I had to learn about my son being arrested on social media, what else is out there?”

From there, Heavenly was seen in a confessional, saying, “When I first found out the news about Damon Jr. on Twitter, my heart dropped. Y’all don’t know the feeling that it would take to see your son being arrested. My son, I love him so much.”

Later, Heavenly and Damon appeared in a confessional together, debating how long he had known of their son’s arrest before telling her. “Well, either way, I did what I did. If anyone has an opinion on it, they can say whatever they want,” Damon said. He also said during the episode that he believed he “could take care of” the situation.

Heavenly, clearly emotional, fired back, “But you didn’t take care of it, in the sense that I’m finding out about it, years later, on social media.”

The Married to Medicine episode continued, and Heavenly revealed that she has not spoken to her son and doesn’t know where he is. She said, “Why did he leave? Was it something I did, Damon? He won’t come see us. Why is that?”

She went on to reflect in a confessional. According to Heavenly, “When I heard the news, I probably got too angry with my son. I don’t remember what I said. It was probably a lot of cussing; a lot of profanity was there. He just got his stuff together, and he left the house, and I have physically not seen him in months.”

In other Heavenly news, she recently interviewed with Brice Sander for Entertainment Tonight. When talking about her reaction to Toya bringing up her son’s arrest on the show, she said, “Of course, I know I can’t run things, but I don’t like how it was brought to me. I think respect is due there.”

Damon, who was also in the interview, opened up about keeping it a secret from his wife. He said, “The thing was I wanted to make sure my son was okay, and I wanted to make sure our family was okay. So, I did what I felt I needed to do. We communicated about it, and it got handled.”

Heavenly interjected, saying that Damon protected his family with his actions. Regarding how their son feels about this being “a conversation,” Heavenly said, “I don’t think he likes it. He did not film. We haven’t really talked to him about it much.”

Toya’s name came up again as she and Heavenly were going to see one another at the event. When asked how she’s feeling about her Married to Medicine co-star, Heavenly said, “I think Toya is Toya. I think that she says negative things about her own husband.”

She went on, “She says negative things about me, so I think she just does that. I don’t know why. I think she does not like to see anyone grow because she’s stagnant. That’s what I think.”
