Ana Quincoces said she “lost the opportunity” to join The View full-time because of Bethenny Frankel – as cohost Rosie O’Donnell “hated” Bethenny and put a “special clause in her contract.” Ana also revealed Joy Behar’s alleged diss toward Melissa Gorga.
Ana was a main cast member on The Real Housewives of Miami, while Bethenny starred on The Real Housewives of New York. The former real estate lawyer has written three books, has a successful podcast, and has guest co-hosted several talk shows in the U.S. and abroad.
“Listen, I lost the opportunity to be a full-time cohost on The View because of Bethenny,” said Ana on her Reality Court podcast with cohost Ace Fanning. “I did The View three times, and I did really well. It was really fun for me. … They were replacing somebody [at the time], and so they did a chemistry test, and they included nine people in this chemistry test.”
“So I went and did the chemistry test, but it turns out that … [Rosie] was so afraid of Bethenny ending up on that show that she had a special clause in her contract saying that she would not share the table with anybody from reality TV, which automatically disqualified me,” Ana continued. “I don’t know that I was going to get it, but I had a one-in-nine chance.”
Ana shared that she “resent[s]” Bethenny for this.
“They told me, ‘Look, it’s not personal. It’s really because she knew that Bethenny wanted to find … something to take away from the embarrassment [of losing] her own talk show,'” she added. “[Rosie was] not threatened [by Bethenny]. She hated her.”
Later on, Ana dished on her first experience on the show.
“The first time I was on [The View], we interviewed Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita and Melissa Gorga,” she said. “So afterwards Joy Behar, who’s so funny … She goes, ‘You want this job? Cause you’re really good at this’ or whatever.”
“Then Melissa comes. She [tells me], ‘Oh my God, it’s so great. … I want to come back, but I want to do what [Ana] did,'” the star recalled. “And then Joy tells me … ‘Her and what gray matter?'”
