Captain Jason Chambers addressed if he and Heather Gay hooked up on her trip to Australia, as his Below Deck Down Under castmates reacted. The 53-year-old also revealed his dating life today.

On the latest season of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Heather and her costars were Jason’s charter guests on the yacht. But Heather and Jason had already spent time together on her past trip to Sydney – and she claimed on the yacht that she and Jason “f**ked around.” When Jason was later asked about it on Watch What Happens Live, he seemingly played coy, leading fans to wonder if it’s true.

On Below Deck Down Under After Show, Jason addressed if he and Heather slept together.

“No, we haven’t ‘f–ked around,'” answered Jason, who said they haven’t even kissed or shared a “nibble at the ear.” But they had an “awesome time” when she visited Sydney, where they went to jazz bars and danced. They also had dinners and “late nights” together.

“It was actually a full week we hung out,” he said. “And we got to know each other really well, like on a personal level.”

According to Jason, he gave a coy answer to Andy Cohen on WWHL about their rumored romance “just to see his reaction.”

“I said, ‘What happens in Sydney, stays in Sydney,'” said Jason. “But no, I need to put an end to the speculation.”

Chief stew Daisy Kelliher later reacted, “When I watched [Heather’s scene] … I [took] it as in you f–ked around, like you messed around, hung out.”

In a separate interview for the After Show, sous chef Alesia Harris said Heather was “giving [Jason] the eyes the whole time. I reckon if there was ever a chance that they’d be alone, it’d be, like, on.”

Speaking to The Daily Dish, Captain Jason gave an update on his dating life.

“I have really put it out there,” he said. “There hasn’t been a moment, to be quite honest, and I still kind of find it funny and hard when there is a moment. … Yachting’s a tough one. … I think if the course certification, first paragraph, said ‘Once you get certified as a captain, you’ll never be home again, so say goodbye to your family,’ I don’t think anyone would become a captain. You’re at sea [for] a long time. It’s great when you’re young.”

Jason added that Below Deck has “given me a great opportunity to shift my career,” so now he has more time for his personal life.

As for what he wants in a partner, Jason expressed, “I love to explore, I love to be adventurous. … I like to just be normal, you know? I like to spend my time in the Philippines or in Indonesia. I like to get out and about. I like to meet local people and engage.”
