Venita Aspen reacted to what Andy Cohen described as Craig Conover‘s “worst moment” on Southern Charm while appearing on Wednesday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
As she also addressed Salley Carson, 31, and Whitner Slagsvol, 36, having her back amid their feud, spoke of Charley Manley‘s suggestion that she antagonized Craig, 36, and confirmed whether she’d spoken to Jarrett “JT” Thomas, 40, since he moved to Bali, Venita, 32, commented on Salley’s interaction with Austen Kroll, 36, and responded to her potential hypocrisy with Charley, 27.
“My reaction when I saw the footage [of Craig in the van] was like, damn, this is really happening,” Venita explained on the February 25 episode of WWHL.
According to Venita, Salley texted her amid Craig’s drunken outburst, during which he berated Salley as “dumb” and called her a “f*cking loser,” admitting that she was “afraid.”
“She was like, ‘Hey, I’m kinda scared right now. I don’t know what’s happening. Craig’s losing his mind,’” Venita recalled. “I was just like, ‘This is insane,’ because we were fighting, and for her to text me and be like, ‘I’m afraid,’ she knew she could still come to me in that moment.”
As for her own face-off with Craig, which happened amid a meal with their castmates, Venita said she was happy to see that Salley had her back and “appreciated” that Whitner defended her as well.
“I was 1,000 percent surprised [that Salley spoke up for me], but also, it was just like, I know my girl at the end of the day, even though we’re having a tiff, I know she’s always going to have my back when she needs to have it the most,” she reasoned.
Then, reacting to Charley suggesting she was antagonizing Craig, Venita noted, “I didn’t like that. I wasn’t a fan of that.”
In addition to revealing that she “[had] not” been in touch with JT since his move, she further shaded her former flame, saying, “Everything I know about that man is against my own will.”
Moving on to Salley and Austen, Venita said that part of the reason Austen engaged with her was that he was “trying to get over the Audrey of it all.”
“He really loved her, and then he realized that it didn’t work and Salley was kissing on him and he was like, ‘Who am I to say no?’” she explained.
Also during the live broadcast, Venita played a game of “Can! You! Defend It?!” with Austen as her suspect.
After saying that she couldn’t defend Austen talking to everyone about his issues with Audrey Pratt except Audrey, or leaving her alone while he flirted with Salley, Venita said she could defend Austen telling Craig he hated him, keeping his split private from Shep Rose, 45, and being unsure about wanting to settle down.
She even defended Austen saying he’d marry Paige DeSorbo, 33, on a past episode of WWHL.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, a fan asked Venita what she thought of Salley getting frustrated with her warnings about Craig before acting in the same manner to Charley after she took interest in their castmate.
“I think she learned from her mistakes,” Venita replied.
Southern Charm season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
