Andy Cohen revealed what he wishes wasn’t cut from the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion, as he shared why Karen Huger was “talking funny.” The WWHL host also reacted to the Real Housewives of New York cast shakeup, and recalled his meeting with Carole Radziwill before her return.
After the RHOP reunion, fans claimed Karen was talking strangely. The star recently got out of prison after being convicted of driving under the influence. Many were surprised that she filmed the reunion at all, given that she wasn’t in the season until the final episodes.
On Andy Cohen Live, a caller asked about Karen’s “teeth.”
“I’m kind of bummed that they didn’t leave [this] in the [reunion] because I actually think it was important – because she was talking funny,” said Andy. “And the reason she was talking funny is she just got new teeth.”
“[When] she was in the middle of talking, [I asked her], ‘Karen, did you get new teeth?’ And she goes, ‘I knew you were gonna point that out, Andy,'” he recalled. “And we kind of laughed about it, but I did feel like it was important for people to know why she was speaking in a certain way because it was a little – it didn’t seem like Karen.”
Later on, Jeff addressed the RHONY cast shakeup.
“We have three new people,” said Andy, who added that Jessel, Erin and Sai are returning. “[The] three new people [are] Erica, Daisy, and Hailey, and they are great for all different reasons. … And there were a lot of people doing discourse about Radzi coming back.”
“She’s coming back as a friend,” said Andy. “We were at BravoCon and Jeff Lewis is like, ‘Radzi’s definitely coming back. You wouldn’t be doing this [if not]. She’s here [at BravoCon],'” he recalled. “[But] it was not the plan at that point. It really wasn’t.”
According to Andy, he met with Carole in December or January to propose her return.
“I think I took her out for coffee in, you know – was it in December or January? – and proposed that she be a friend,” he explained. “She was very Radzi about it. She was very analytical. She’s gotten to be pals with Erin and [her husband] Abe, so they actually are legitimate friends. And she had all kinds of questions about what does that mean, and all this.”
“And she thought about it, and after that coffee I honestly thought it was a 50 – 50 chance that she was going to do it,” he added.
Andy also shared his hope that Martha Stewart will appear in some capacity, given that her makeup artist Daisy is joining the cast.
