A podcaster revealed Dr. Wendy Osefo‘s awkward interaction with the prosecutor of her fraud case during her recent hearing in court. The podcaster shared what Wendy allegedly told the prosecutor, and she addressed why she thinks Wendy said it.

After the hearing, reports surfaced that the Real Housewives of Potomac star and her husband, Eddie Osefo (who were charged with 16 counts of insurance fraud), will be tried separately, as Wendy requested a speedy trial.

On My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, podcaster Taria Faison, who was in the courtroom for Wendy and Eddie’s recent hearing, shared more details on the hearing.

“Prosecution has the door open. The prosecutor is a woman. Wendy walks up to her,” said Taria from the Weigo podcast. “And the prosecution was very … kind of like stoic [in response]. But [fan reporter] Chantel said she thinks [the] prosecutor [recently] had a loss, and Wendy said, ‘Sorry for your loss.'”

“Either way, no matter what [Wendy] said, the prosecutor was very much … holding the door [showing] no emotion,” said Taria.

“Like you ain’t getting any brownie points from me?” asked host Christian Gray Snow.

“Yeah,” said Taria.

Christian added, “Like when you’re trying to be nice to the teacher, and they’re like, ‘F**k off.’ To be honest, I think that that might have been an intentional thing on [Wendy’s] part.”

“Me too,” Taria replied. “That’s why it stuck out to me.”

Last week, the Weigo podcast’s X account shared updates from the courtroom.

“Wendy and Eddie will NO LONGER be tried together. Eddie [waived] his rights to a speedy trial (being tried within 180 days of being charged),” said the account on X. “There was extensive discovery and he wants to take a deeper dive per the prosecution. … Back down to the courthouse for the Osefo’s status hearing…Stay tuned.”

“They are estimating that Wendy’s trial and Eddie’s trial will each run four days. With one day for the defense. Again, that is the current estimate,” the account went on. “Wendy [wants] a trial seemingly immediately. She DID NOT waive her right to a speedy trial. … The defense & prosecution were looking for dates in March. However, there were none available for a jury trial. This makes me wonder if this is a set up for Eddie to take the fall.”
