Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp reacted to a report claiming Dorit Kemsley‘s $6.5 million Encino, California, home is facing foreclosure.
Teddi addressed the shocking news alongside Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania on a recent episode of the Two Ts in a Pod podcast.
“No wonder the girls are concerned,” Teddi said. “You don’t know your finances in a marriage.”
She pointed to Dorit’s past business ventures that viewers have watched Dorit have, insisting they’ve been made “straight for television.”
“When you go through Dorit’s businesses, we haven’t heard anything about her wedding dress line,” Teddi explained. “We haven’t heard anything about Buca di Beppo. We haven’t heard anything about Beverly Beach. So any of the things that she could be generating income from other than the show.”
Teddi also advised to “know your s—,” meaning people should be aware of their financial situations.
Dolores claimed Dorit’s been “very clear” about not knowing her finances and not paying bills, as her estranged husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, handled those things.
“And you’re… taking a really risk when a big risk when you don’t know your finances in a marriage,” Dolores insisted. “She’s not a dumb girl. She speaks several languages. As we saw.”
She added, “I’m on your side here… But I thought to myself, ‘What have you been doing with your money all this time? Have you been spending it? Have you not saved it?’ You’ve been making your own money for a long time. Did you spend your own money? Because I don’t… I’d rather do without.”
Dolores also brought up her long-time pal and co-star, Teresa Giudice, as a cautionary tale.
“Look what happened to Teresa,” she noted. “She went to jail for a year. Because she trusted he was doing the right thing. She asked him, ‘Are we okay? Are you doing the right… Is this all okay?’ Not even knowing what she’s asking about. I didn’t when I was married. I didn’t ask, so… she thought he had it all under wraps. But, guess what? You find out the hard way.”
According to the intel on Dorit’s home, she has allegedly accrued $842,000 debt to two lenders, both of whom are now seeking repayment. Some fans have pointed the finger at Dorit for the amount she owes due to her alleged “shopping addiction.”
Dorit and PK purchased the property in August 2019 and put it up for sale one year later. It’s currently in pre-foreclosure for the second time.
On January 21, Tanka LLC and Private Money Solutions filed a notice of default, stating that Dorit owed $842,376, including interest, after defaulting on the loans of $600,000 and $150,000. They claimed she had not made a payment on the loans since September 2025.
If the past-due balance isn’t figured out, it could be the tipping point to put the home into foreclosure.
Radar Online, which first reported the foreclosure claims, also shared a separate default notice was filed in December 2025 by Prime Recon LLC, who reportedly held a $5,196,750 mortage on Dorit’s behalf. They claimed she missed $294,321 of payments, including interest.
Dorit has yet to respond to reports about her foreclosure.
