One of the juicy storylines on the premiere season of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island has revolved around Kelsey Swanson and her mystery boyfriend.
Specifically, Kelsey shared she lives in his mansion and only sees him half the year, as the other half of the year, he dates others. She is also seeing another man while on the show.
A recent TikTok from user @OpenlyChris popped up that had some alleged tea to spill on Kelsey.
Chris explained that the overemphasized trope on RHORI is that “everyone in Rhode Island knows everything.”
“And let me tell you, I had a little moment at the dermatologist which really does show how everyone knows everything,” he continued.
Chris explained he went to his dermatologist appointment, and the PA was from Rhode Island and said she had “some tea.”
“So she starts telling me, everyone in Rhode Island knows this, but by watching the show, clearly that’s not necessarily the exact story being told,” he said.
Chris then shared that the gossip was about Kelsey.
“So she’s telling me that everyone in Rhode Island knows that Kelsey and her boyfriend broke up before they started filming Real Housewives,” he divulged. “And that upon the season being aired, the family was pissed off because of what was shared.”
Reality Blurb exclusively spoke to an insider to find out if there was any truth behind this or if it was simply a rumor.
“That is true,” a source shared.
They went on to note they don’t believe Kelsey “is still in the house” as what Chris “said is true” about them having broken up prior to filming.
They did add that, when Kelsey was initially cast, she was “together” with her boyfriend at that time.
In his video, Chris went on to defend Kelsey.
“From what I’ve seen and from what I’ve heard, I am in full defense of this,” he stated. “The fact that the decision was already made makes sense just based on what we’re seeing on the show when you look at it through that lens. And I could also see a world in which this is literally the necessary step to get out of that situation.
“Being with someone non-married, relying on them for financials for so long, and then leaving them – what are you going to do? Like, that is a huge question mark as to like, what do you do to make money? And so being a Real Housewife is a career, believe it or not.”
Kelsey previously addressed her relationship with the mystery man, rumored to be John Caprio, son of the late judge Frank Caprio, on the April 5 episode of the RHORI: After Show.
Specifically, she spoke to whether she was in a polygamous relationship, given that she and the mystery man both saw other people while together.
“There was somebody who was also occupying my time when my boyfriend was not around and when he was with somebody else. Why do you have to label it?” she said.
Kelsey noted that if she had to label her relationship, she’d call it polyamorous.
“I was in a relationship with a man, okay? This man ended up having — not at the same time, but later on — another person was involved for the first five years. That was it. Were there other people involved, probably, after that? Yeah. But it wasn’t like, ‘Okay, we’re in a polygamous relationship. It is the three of us. We are doing this, and we’re gonna go out together and have a great time.’ No. It was just, I’m not gonna worry about what’s happening down there; she’s not gonna be worrying about what’s happening up here,” she elaborated, insisting she never described her relationship as being polygamous.
“That’s not what I label my relationship, and it’s what I never labeled it,” she added. “Me and the guy who came about, that wasn’t like, ‘Okay, he’s my boyfriend, he’s my boyfriend, and we’re, like, polygamous together.’ I know it was entertaining for them to talk about, but it’s really not that exciting.”
