Vanderpump Rules alums Katie Maloney and Dayna Kathan appeared on Crystal Kung Minkoff and Cynthia Bailey‘s Humble Brag podcast.
While there, they opened up about their feelings on The Valley, a spin-off from Vanderpump Rules, which neither of them is a cast member on.
“The Valley is a hard one for me to watch because… I have relationships with so many of those people from years past and now, and I just– it’s hard to not just be pissed off, you know?” Katie said, when asked if she was tuning into the show.
Dayna also added she felt it was “dark,” but she wished the cast “the best.”
Aside from Janet Caperna and her ex, Tom Schwartz, Katie insisted she doesn’t talk to anyone on that show, and both she and Dayna copped to being “disconnected” from it.
They also addressed Michelle Saniei dating Dr. Dre.
Dayna claimed she was “thrilled” for Michelle, while Katie said she loved it.
“Especially, I think for people who got to see — and everyone, his side, her side, the truth — but saw their relationship play out, you know, with her ex-husband. I just — I don’t know, I love that for her. I love to see a woman win,” Dayna added.
When Crystal asked if Michelle was the one whose husband, Jesse Lally, was a “d*ck,” Katie insisted “all the husbands” seem like “d*cks” in her mind.
“I’m not saying this from personal experience, but watching it, I’m just like, ‘Ooh, the bar is in hell,'” Katie elaborated.
She added that Bravo “loves to platform just the most mediocre f*cking dudes you could possibly find.”
When Crystal suggested that it may be “intentional,” Katie agreed that “perhaps” it could be, but she quickly brought up another recent controversial Bravo personality: West Wilson.
“I feel like… the Bravo fandom… props these guys up,” she said. “The wa — the way these women were simping for Wes — West Wilson — who to me, I just have always been like, “What?”” Katie noted.
Katie is gearing up to appear on former co-star Stassi Schroeder‘s new show, House of Stassi, which begins streaming on Hulu July 29.
In a recent interview, Stassi admitted she had a falling out with Katie “for years” that no one was aware of.
“No one knows that we had a falling out for years,” she detailed. “Now we’re rebuilding our friendship after growing in two completely different directions.”
“I was incredibly selfish and chaotic and I just feel like I didn’t consider other people before I did things or said things. And if I were still in Vanderpump Rules, I’d probably be the same person. This time away from reality TV has shaped who I am now,” Stassi added. “There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about the canceling. I have this insecurity: Is this person I’m meeting, do they think these things about me? And that’s my burden to have, and I’m okay with it. But it’s not like it just happened and then I came back. No, I will live with this for the rest of my life.”
