Margaret Josephs revealed a crucial element of her filming ultimatum that led to her exit from the Real Housewives of New Jersey – and the “mistake” she made in her final season. Meanwhile, the new cast was spotted filming at Teresa Giudice’s birthday party.
In the latest season, Teresa’s husband Luis Ruelas said he wished suffering on Margaret’s family amid their feud. Though Margaret later test filmed with various castmates last year, she eventually confirmed that she was leaving the show (after Reality Blurb exclusively reported that only Teresa, Melissa Gorga and Dolores Catania were coming back).
On Shut Up! Tell Me More, Margaret shared a crucial element of why she left RHONJ.
“If you go back to every outlet, podcast, interview I have done since we finished wrapp[ing] filming years ago, I have said if a certain someone is coming back and it’s going down that pike, it is not good for me. I cannot work with them,” stated Margaret.
But she said this person is “not Teresa” – but “her husband” Luis.
“I’m not putting myself in that position anymore,” Margaret explained. “I made a mistake going back to even my last season. I was told I wasn’t going to have to be around him, which I wasn’t, and everything like that.”
“They were still speaking ill of me, saying they wished suffering on my family, on my son, on myself,” she continued. “Even Andy Cohen said that was the darkest moment in Housewives history. It was on Sirius Radio.”
According to Margaret, after hearing this statement, she asked herself if she was an “idiot” for going back last season.
“And after that … I made a decision with my family. They had said to me, ‘You cannot go back to that. You can’t put yourself in that position if it’s that environment,'” she recalled. “[So] I said it, I stuck to it, and I meant it.”
Around the same time, the season 15 cast was seen filming for Teresa’s birthday bash. In a video shared by @bravohousewives on Instagram, Melissa, Dolores, and several newbies posed around Teresa for photographs.
