After Reality Blurb exclusively reported Real Housewives of Rhode Island star Rulla Pontarelli was “losing it” over her husband Brian‘s affair, it has been revealed that one of the people she lost it on was Real Housewives of New Jersey star Kim DePaola.
Kim has never been one to shy away from her opinions on any topic, and, as she revealed to us, this clearly didn’t sit well with Rulla.
After Kim talked about Brian’s affair on her successful Get Real with Kim D podcast, Rulla fired off a message to Kim via Instagram DM.
While Kim courteously did not release the full DM that Rulla sent her, she noted a few things Rulla said, including that it was “sad and shameful” Kim would be speaking about the affair and that Kim was getting information from someone “hungry for attention.”
Rulla also noted she thought Kim knew “better at this stage of her career” and insisted people were “appalled” by what Kim had said on her podcast about Rulla and Brian.
In her characteristic tone, Kim fired back with a spicy response, writing, “Rulla, we have very different opinions of what shameful is.”
“I would be ashamed to look at my children and letting them know the behavior you tolerate from a man,” Kim continued. “I have a very successful podcast and a much longer-standing career in the Bravo world. People pay to listen to my opinion.”
“As far as knowing better,” Kim elaborated, “maybe you need to look in the mirror at yourself and figure out why your prince of a husband’s behavior is acceptable to you.”
Kim also instructed Rulla to tell the people who “commented” about her that they “obviously” don’t know her nor know she doesn’t care what people think about her.
“I have peace in my life and would never tolerate the disrespect that you do,” Kim also stated. “I feel sorry for you. Your story is truly sad.”
Kim concluded by telling Rulla that she thinks she will “wake up” one day.
“I’m praying for you,” Kim said.
In a statement to Reality Blurb, Kim added that Rulla “must not know who I am nor my reputation for not backing down to people who come at me. If she wants to continue to play these games, let’s rock and roll. I love it.”
Kim receiving a DM is in line with what Reality Blurb’s insider initially divulged on May 27.
Specifically, they shared that Rulla was “losing it” and “reaching out” to people who spoke negatively about Brian.
“She has taken to DMing people who say a negative word about him,” the source stated at the time. “People who have been on the receiving end of her messages are very confused as to why she continues to defend someone whom she admits cheated on her. She goes on a public show that millions of people will watch, and then expects no one to comment negatively on a situation she apparently seems somewhat blind to the implications of. It’s bizarre.”
The source also noted Rulla should “expect” that people who watch the show and “commentate on it” are going to be discussing her.
“If she’s not open to that type of engagement, she’s on the wrong platform and should step aside for many other women waiting in line for their chance at Bravo’s paycheck and notoriety,” they added.
