Summer House star West Wilson understandably took a lot of heat during the Summer House reunion.

One of the things a lot of the cast came for him over, aside from the obvious, which was his shocking relationship with Amanda Batula, was for not following Amanda off the couch when she left the reunion stage.

West opened up about that on the Show Me Something podcast

He said if he “would have left right away,” meaning both he and Amanda would have been gone, the rest of the cast would’ve thought that the “two people who are the reason” they’re upset had both left.

“I think that would have looked mad f*cking soft, if we’re being honest,” he continued. “So, I wish Amanda didn’t necessarily get up, but she had to take a break, that’s fine.”

“She’s a big girl,” West elaborated. “I got yelled at enough times that I got up. But it would have been weirder if she got up and then Kyle [Cooke] left. Like Kyle almost went… It’s just so f*cking weird.  But I didn’t want – I didn’t want them all on stage without two of us. I felt like that’s a worse look than her going – like, she – I knew she was fine.”

West also addressed the comment Dara Levitan made to him at the reunion.

“I’m gonna be honest, West, I don’t see you suddenly waking up one day, and this is gonna be the relationship that you stand up for and man up for,” Dara told West while Amanda was not on stage. “You like people to think of you as a good guy, but you treat the women that give themselves to you like they’re expendable.”

When Amanda came back on, Dara told her, “I guess I would just reiterate to you that the biggest pattern in his life is that it is the West show and it will always be the West show. The biggest concern of his, consistently, is being well-liked and well-received. He doesn’t prioritize treating the women he is linked to romantically with the respect that he does anybody else in his life.”

West responded to Dara’s comments on the podcast, saying it “hurts” to “have… a friend really f*cking cook you like that.”

“She’s valid for calling me out in that capacity because… I’ve dated like casually and hurt people and so, that one did stick out to me honestly a lot because I was like, oh, this is someone who I’ve been romantic with and been friends with and… to have them kind of just give me the full scope of what that reads like to someone, I guess, who’s been a part of it in all facets,” he shared. “Like, yeah, that’s a lot to like take in, especially on that stage.”

“I’ve thought about it probably every f*cking day since then,” West added.

The third and final part of the Summer House reunion airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
