Katie Ginella suggested that she was told by production to bring up the paparazzi allegations against Heather Dubrow. She also alleged that Gina Kirschenheiter wanted her to make things up for the cameras, and she shared when Katie clapped back at producers.
Amid her drama with co-stars, Katie was fired from The Real Housewives of Orange County after two seasons. In her first season, Katie brought up the claim that Heather called paparazzi to come take pictures of her and her husband, Terry Dubrow, which Heather denied.
On Pink Politics, Katie was asked if she was encouraged to “self-produce” for a storyline.
“We did that a little bit my first season when they told me, ‘Bring up the fact that Heather called the paparazzi. … Go tell them this,'” Katie recalled.
She also shared that production once wanted her to film at a Japanese grocery store.
“I show up at a Japanese grocery store. And I told the producers, ‘I’m not Japanese,'” she said. “And I walked back out, and I said, ‘Guys, I’m not filming here.'”
According to Katie, Gina would suggest that Katie make things up for production. The star also said she still gets called “oriental” in 2026.
Back in March, Katie revealed her one regret on RHOC.
“The only thing I think I regret is giving people so much grace when I didn’t get any,” said Katie on Instagram at the time. “I was told to make amends and be friends with people so that this could be an actual friend group. So that’s what I tried to do.”
“I said sorry even though I probably said sorry way too much,” she continued. “But that’s how I felt. I truly genuinely didn’t want to make anyone feel bad or hurt their feelings, and I wish I wouldn’t have, because they didn’t do that same in return for me. Lesson learned.”
On Murderish the Podcast, Katie also addressed a past phone call with Bravo.
“When all this was airing and [my co-stars] were getting all this hate – especially Emily and Jennifer and a little bit to Gretchen – I got a call from Bravo that said, ‘Hey, maybe do you wanna put out something that says, “Hey, although I appreciate the love, please don’t send any hate to my cast members. Please stop messaging, please stop commenting,’” she said. “And I was like, ‘Why is that my responsibility?’”
