Sai De Silva teased her drama with Carole Radziwill on the new season of Real Housewives of New York – and revealed which castmate supported her the most during her separation with David Craig.
In a trailer for the upcoming season, Sai questioned if Carole had ever been to Jeffrey Epstein’s island, after her name was brought up in the Epstein Files in relation to his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who’s now in prison for sex trafficking. Carole has denied any involvement in the sex trafficking ring.
On SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, host Evan Real asked Sai who she leaned on the most amid her split with David, after it was revealed in April that he filed for divorce.
“Jessel,” she answered. “Jessel and I are pretty close. … She was one of the first people that I called when everything went down with TMZ and [news of the separation] came out. And I literally was just like on the bathroom floor [crying] with her on the phone.”
“[She] just gave me such great positive words of affirmation and just kind of talked me through it,” she said. “And she was just there for me, you know. She was a good friend to me. … I think our relationship is so much more meaningful because we went through [our past drama]. She’s a solid friend.”
Sai was later asked how she feels about Carole’s return season on RHONY.
“Carole is back in the mix. You know what? Carole held her own this season,” she said. “I met Carole twice before actually filming with her. We met through a mutual friend one night when we were all out, and then I bumped into her in front of my building again after that. So it was just like a random meeting, but we actually never sat down and had a full-on conversation.”
Evan then asked what it was like getting to know Carole.
“It was tough in the sense of, I don’t know her,” said Sai. “Like I really knew nothing about Carole. And I’m going to be very honest. I had no idea she was a journalist. I had no idea about her backstory, which there’s a lot of story there that I had no clue [about]. But she has a really great side to her. And I love that she’s super intelligent and she’s a little quirky in a way. So, you know, nothing but love for Carole, but you’ll see what happens.”
According to the star, Sai gets “in trouble” for “ask[ing] the questions” that “we’re all thinking,” but other people “don’t have the balls” to ask.
