The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Denise Richards has been going through a brutal divorce from Aaron Phypers since July 2025.
Along the way, she revealed that he allegedly abused her, and she even showed a photo with a bruised eye to back her claims.
RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville had beef with Denise when she was on the show, as Brandi claimed they had slept together and Denise vehemently denied it. And now, it seems like there is still bad blood between the pair.
On a recent episode of her Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast, Brandi, 53, issued her response to Denise, 55, discussing being allegedly abused by Aaron in a new interview on the Dumb Blonde podcast.
“That is so whack to be talking about that on a podcast,” Brandi stated.
She noted that when Denise was on RHOBH, “everyone” was talking about “how aggressive” Aaron, 53, was with her.
“It was like he would grab her arm and like, you know, just like… You know, like ‘Come on, let’s go. Don’t talk about that.’ Like, that was always, like, kind of, like, looming in the background, like people were saying it,” claimed Brandi. “But I just don’t think talking about it on… I mean…”
As the discussion about Denise continued, Brandi admitted she has “issues” with Denise.
“I know things other people don’t know. A lot of things. And, um, you’ll read about it in my book,” she added.
On the Dumb Blonde podcast, Denise insisted Aaron became a “completely different person” from the man she married.
“[He was] verbally abusive,” she alleged. “And it was a slow burn. This wasn’t overnight. It was like slowly chipping away, putting doubts in my head about certain things. And then I’ll never forget the one time when he first hit me.”
Denise revealed she was “so shocked.”
“I was like, ‘Oh f**k, there’s no going back from this,’” she elaborated. “[Then] you see who they were that you fell in love with. And that they’re so remorseful. He was so remorseful. And to the [point] where I felt bad for him, where I’m like, ‘It’s not that bad.’ I played it down. I didn’t know even the mental part of it at that point.”
“He knew little things to say to me, to put doubts in my head, to make me feel insecure about choices I was making, and things that I was doing,” she stated. “He was like, ‘I’ll help you. I’ll take care of, I’ll help you with your finances.’ That was the biggest mistake I made. … [I thought] he had my best interest. He made me believe he was taking care of me and, you know, wanted to build a life with me.”
During the conversation, Denise also addressed things allegedly becoming physical between her and Aaron.
“It was stuff that I could hide on my arms or something. And then he gave me a black eye,” she claimed. “And that was where I was like … ‘What am I gonna do now? What am I going to tell people?’ … I knew it was wrong, but I was so beaten down … that I didn’t know how to leave.”
To date, Denise and Aaron’s divorce remains ongoing.
