Melissa Gorga’s daughter Antonia Gorga recalled being “on edge” at her family’s first Christmas with the Giudices after their reconciliation – when Antonia questioned if she wanted to “let them back into my life.” The Real Housewives of New Jersey star also revealed how her dad Joe Gorga has changed since the reconciliation.
Last year, Teresa Giudice mended fences with her brother Joe amid their family feud. After the families later met up to celebrate Christmas together for the first time in years, it was hinted that some of the kids weren’t so happy about it at first.
On her cousin Gia Giudice‘s Casual Chaos podcast, Gia asked Antonia if she was excited for their family’s first Christmas back together last year.
“I was a little iffy about it, to be honest,” said Antonia. “I was just on edge. … You hear everything that everyone is saying, and you don’t know what to believe and what not … especially, like, what I’ve been hearing from other people.”
“I don’t know. I was just so iffy, and I was like, do I want to let them back into my life?” Antonia added. “I’m a Leo, I’m very stubborn. So I was like, hmm, like, I don’t know. You know what I mean? But after being around you guys, it was just like, ‘Oh … these are my cousins.'”
According to Antonia, she and her cousin Milania initially had tension at the gathering.
“Me and Milania were so close. When we first saw each other, we were like, ‘Hmm. Like, do we want to talk to each other? Do we not?’ Like, we were being so weird,” she recalled. “And then she finally, like, dragged me into my room. [She] was like, ‘Can you talk to me?’ And I’m like, ‘Here we go. Here she is.'”
Antonia suggested that things were better between them after they talked.
At one point in the episode, Antonia addressed how her dad Joe has changed since the family mended fences.
“I mean, everyone is so happy, but I’ll say one thing: My dad got so happy after we reconciled,” she said, via @realhousewifeofwestchester on Instagram. “His entire attitude and everything towards seeing … social media and stuff changed. Like, he became so happy.”
“He just wanted his nieces and his sister back so bad,” said Antonia. “And now that he has it, like, you can tell. Me and my mom would talk about it. ‘Like, he is so happy.’ He wanted this so bad for so long, and now he’s finally got it, and he’s so freaking happy.”
