Captain Lee Rosbach revealed how much an actual charter costs, as he shared that the guests on Below Deck get a “very discounted rate.”
Captain Lee was the first captain of the Below Deck franchise, but after he had to stop filming in season 10 for health reasons, he was replaced by Captain Kerry Titheradge.
In a recent Cameo shared by @cameorealityTV on TikTok, Captain Lee shared more details about the costs of charters on Below Deck.
“The guests you see on the show, they get a very discounted rate,” said Lee. “Because usually a boat like Saint David, the one I last captained, was $350,000 a week, plus food, and another 30% for that, and alcohol, plus fuel, plus dockage, plus, plus, plus. And 20 percent for the tip.”
“Unless you wanted to tip 25 or 30 [percent], which did happen on occasion,” he added. Lee shared that the total cost could be about “half a million” for a week.
Back in 2024, Lee hinted at his feud with Below Deck Mediterranean’s Captain Sandy Yawn.
“I did an interview, and they asked me, point blank, ‘Do you like Captain Sandy?’ And I said, ‘Well, you asked a question, so I’ll give you the honest answer. No, it’s that simple,’” said Lee at the time in an interview for The Standard. “I know you asked the question. You want an honest answer? I gave it to you. I don’t feel the need to explain. You know why I don’t, or go into anything in great detail, but let’s just say my wedding invitation got lost in the mail.”
Lee was referring to Sandy’s wedding to Leah Shafer.
He then addressed his exit from the show. “I do miss it,” he said. “I miss the traveling. I miss the challenges. And there’s certainly no lack of challenges on board, each one unique and different. So, yeah, I do miss it.”
When asked if they approached him about returning, Lee answered, “No one has spoken to me about it, and if they would, I would tell you because that’s why they don’t tell me anything. I just can’t keep it to myself.”
