Hailey Glassman is undeniably the breakout star on season 16 of The Real Housewives of New York City.
This is largely due to her unique personality, which makes for great television, as well as her unique ties to reality TV in the past. She dated Jon Gosselin and was accused of breaking up his marriage to Kate Gosselin.
In regard to her relationship with Jon, Hailey, 39, noted her mother encouraged it and wanted her to date him.
Over the weekend, a clip was released of Hailey’s mother, Lauren Glassman, taking part in an interview for an upcoming episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kim DePaola‘s Get Real With Kim D podcast. The episode is due to drop Saturday on her Patreon.
In the clip, Lauren noted it “was like the death” of her daughter.
“I can’t believe this kind of betrayal came from my child,” she said, regarding what Hailey has said about her on RHONY. “I mean, is it a new phenomenon that Hailey goes around bad-mouthing me? No… If I didn’t buy her what she wanted or do what she wanted, she would go around New City bad-mouthing me to her friends’ parents. I know that. But no matter what she ever did to me, she always came back and apologized… and I’d forgive her.”
“This is a tough one to go on national, international TV and make your storyline your mother, which I am not going to agree to, to say that that’s true,” she elaborated. “It is not true. It is far from the truth. Far from the truth.”
Hailey, for her part, commented on Reality Blurb‘s Instagram to respond after an exclusive report involving her was published.
“My biggest bully is my Mother,” she wrote. “This is unfortunate I have to even comment on this, but anyone who has endured a severely Narcissistic Mother knows this is the way they operate 101. If she does not receive the manufactured superhero image or the outcome & praise she wants she goes on a smear campaign, gathers others, isolates you, tries to discredit your reality until you get back in line on her hamster wheel cycle.”
“If you don’t understand this type of mother, consider yourself lucky,” she continued. “Those suffering with a mother like this, please know you’re not alone. I get it’s extraordinarily hard and paralyzing to stand up to this type of woman, especially when it’s your Mother. The sad reality is a ‘Mother’ wouldn’t do this to her daughter.”
Hailey concluded by sharing that she commends “those who have survived this level” and that they should “spread” light to help others.
After the clip of Hailey’s mother circulated, a source spoke with Reality Blurb exclusively about the interview with Lauren and Hailey’s father, Dr. Larry Glassman.
“The conversation with Hailey’s parents allegedly reveals her to be a ‘complete fraud,’” they shared, claiming she’s “not who she represents on the show.”
“Both Hailey’s parents were interviewed,” the source continued, “and there were some shocking revelations they made about Hailey.”
“One was that her story about Jon Gosselin and how they met is completely fabricated,” the insider said. “They shared they didn’t pressure Hailey into any relationship with Jon, and they weren’t even aware of it at the time. They were just as surprised as the public was about the relationship at the time.”
The insider also alleged that Hailey’s “lying” about her “lavender husband.”
Specifically, they insisted she’s fabricating “the timeline she met him on, and the details surrounding their marriage.”
“All in all, viewers of RHONY who think she’s ‘cute and fun’ and telling quote unquote ‘her truth’ after a turbulent time years ago in the media will be stunned to see just how much BS she’s spewing,” they added.
