Bravo finally dropped the trailer for its new show, Small Town Trouble: Texas, amid a controversy over one of its castmates, Aaryn Williams, who was accused of bigotry on a past season of Big Brother.
The show was originally titled Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives, though its name was later changed. The cast is made up of women living in Boerne, Texas, which is situated in the Texas Hill Country.
In a newly released trailer, the show highlighted a cast of women with seemingly diverse beliefs.
Bravo teases that the cast “follows a charming yet unconventional group of wives, mothers and social insiders – Aaryn Williams, Alli McAnelly, Annari Uys, Gabby Hernandez Huffman, and Hailey Head, alongside their respective husbands Nick Williams, Blake McAnelly, Duan Uys, Jordan Huffman, and Josh Marsalis.”
According to the network, “conservative values of small-town life collide with forbidden attraction, messy friendships, and shocking secrets. Here, perception is everything, temptation is everywhere, and the truth is never as buttoned-up as it looks.”
While one co-star talked about how the bible prevents chaos, another said she celebrates “having vaginas and liking vaginas.”
“You would be surprised how many women are married with traditional families but also sleeping with women,” said one co-star. “It’s a lot.”
Several castmates also fought over being a good friend, as their “sins” were hinted at. At one point, a star claimed that castmate Hailey Head “deserves so much better” than her husband Josh. Later on, one star said cryptically, “He’s completely leaving me.”
At a different point, a castmate hinted mysteriously, “We all were there for her … and so was your husband.” The wife then clapped back, “Don’t talk about my husband anymore.”
Later, two men were arguing in a bar as one of them said, “It’s okay for your wife to have sex with another woman!”
“That’s our marriage, not yours!” the other man responded.
One of the final lines of the trailer was, “Jesus is not mad at me for scissoring.”
Meanwhile, many fans are outraged over the casting of Aaryn Williams (formerly Aaryn Gries), who was accused of making several offensive comments on Big Brother.
In a Big Brother clip shared by @benji.taylr on Threads, host Julie Chen questioned the star, saying, “Referring to Candiace, you said, ‘Be careful what you say in the dark – might not be able to see the b**ch.’ Referring to Helen, you said, ‘Shut up. Go make some rice.’ And referring to Andy, you said, ‘No one’s going to vote for whoever that queer puts up.’ Can you see how those things can be interpreted as racist and homophobic?”

“I do,” Aaryn answered at the time. “I do not remember saying those things … [and] that was not meant to be serious. And if I said those things, I feel horrible for that, and I regret that.”
Small Town Trouble: Texas premieres November 18 on Bravo.
