Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is opening up about a new heartbreak amid her ongoing divorce as she expressed that she’s now in a “season” in which a “whole bunch of stuff” keeps “happening back-to-back.”
Earlier this year, Kandi confirmed that she filed for divorce from her husband, Todd Tucker. According to certain reports, he’s trying to challenge their prenup, and he allegedly was talking to other women behind her back before she filed.
“Let me tell y’all something, [I’m] stressed,” she said in an Amazon Live, via @housewivesfromahousewife on Instagram. “My uncle died this morning. … That is very sad news, I know it’s crazy. But I will say I love him very much, but he has been in pain for a while. F cancer.”
“Have you ever been in a season where it’s just like a whole bunch of stuff just keep happening back to back?” she added. “That’s where I’m at right now.”
On November 21, Kandi revealed that she and Todd had split.
“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect,” she said at the time in an interview for PEOPLE. “I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”
Back in April, Kandi shut down rumors of an impending breakup.
“[My daughter Riley Burruss] actually sent it to me. She was like, ‘Why do people keep saying that y’all about to get divorced?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know,’” said Kandi at the time, speaking to Us Weekly.
But later on, Kandi shared that the dynamic between her mom and Todd had worsened.
“Let’s see, Friday, they did pretty good. The kids, Ace and Blaze, had graduated from their school, so they were doing pretty good, but by the time I got back from my trip the other day, my mom was back to not feeling us,” she said on Amazon Live. “So, hopefully it’ll change.”
