Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., is reportedly facing two new felony assault charges over a 2024 altercation with his then-wife, Alexiana Smokoff, after she allegedly “flushed his drugs down the toilet.”

In November 2025, Robert was arrested after allegedly violating a protective order by going to the home of his ex-wife’s family. The 23-year-old was released on February 3 from Salt Lake County Metro Jail. In the past, Robert has shared on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City that he struggles with substance abuse.

According to a report from @starcasm_ig on Instagram, Robert is now facing “two new felony assault charges stemming from a 2024 altercation with his now-ex-wife, Alexiana Smokoff.”

“According to police, Alexiana came forward about the May 2024 assault while Robert was in jail in November of last year. She told police that Robert attacked her after she flushed his drugs down the toilet,” said the outlet. “She claimed Robert pushed her, ‘beat her about face and head, and kicked her in the stomach,’ in addition to strangling her.”

“Alexiana took photos on the day of the incident and presented them to the officer when filing the report,” the outlet continued. A police officer expressed, “‘In the pictures, both eyes appear red and swollen, her left eye has a lump below the eyebrow, and there is a red mark visible on [Alexiana’s] neck.'”

Felony aggravated assault and felony assault charges were filed on February 5, one day after his release from jail.

“A warrant was issued for Robert on the same day the charges were filed,” the account stated. “It appears he was able to post his $2,500 bond without being booked. He has a hearing scheduled for the middle of next month.”

On the latest Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion, Mary shared that her son was in jail, but she hadn’t yet visited him. At the time, she suggested that Robert was learning from his mistakes the hard way.

Earlier this year, TLC released a documentary, The Cult of the Real Housewife, about allegations of misconduct in Mary’s church, Faith Temple Pentecostal. Mary has denied the accusations.
