West Wilson addressed his exit from Summer House during an interview with Lucas Brody on Wednesday, also dishing on his first kiss and sexual experience with Amanda Batula.
While also revealing that he ended his past romance with Ciara Miller, 30, to be with Meija Moreno, 27, reacting to the idea that Amanda, 34, was on drugs at the season 10 reunion, and confirming he met Amanda’s parents, West, 31, discussed his series departure and explained what initially attracted him to Amanda.
“I wanted to tell it on my own. But that is true. But in their defense, I don’t think it would have been a fun summer,” West noted during the June 24 interview with Lucas.
After noting that he loved Amanda as a friend for “a long time,” West admitted it was he who made the “first comment” about his attraction to her.
“[But] it wasn’t like, pursuing. Think of the whole summer — [I] had her back a lot of times, she’s had my back a lot of times. We’ve been close. We’ve hung out multiple times without fornication for years. Sometimes stuff happens, and it doesn’t mean it’s the right thing, but it does happen,” he explained.
According to West, seeing Amanda happy after her split from Kyle Cooke, 43, sparked his interest.
“We were hanging out a lot, running around New York. I did see her unhappy for so f*cking long. Hanging out with her and seeing her smiling and having fun … that meant a lot to me, and it probably stoked some f*cking butterflies, and then I brought it up one day. I probably shouldn’t have. But I f*cking did,” he shared.
As for their first kiss, West revealed that it happened at “the end of February” at a bar.
“[But it was] not, like, a big thing, it was, like, quick,” he revealed, adding that there was tongue and that it was “probably” him who made the first move.
“I was also seeing someone else,” he continued, seemingly referring to his relationship with Meija.
Regarding when they first had sex, West shared, “We f*ck f*cked after the statement, but we’d been like, making out and having sleepovers for a long time. This is my bullsh*t thing, is, I was still doing the wrong thing, but I was like, ‘Oh, if I’m not D in V then I’m not committing a crime,’ which is wrong.”
Also wrong was the fact that Meija believed he was faithful to her, which he admitted was “unfair and sh*tty.”
“I’m like, done even trying to walk around that part of it. Like, I f*cked her over, cared about her, sh*tty, brought her into this whole f*cking mess that is 900 times bigger than anything before,” he declared. “The projection of what our relationship was, we were on the same page. It was the actual intimacy of what our relationship was that I, like, threw a f*cking curveball.”
“There’s not a lot to it other than I wanted my cake and ate it too,” he added. “[I’m] super gutted over how I fucking handled that.”
West then recalled leaving Ciara for Meija.
“I liked Ciara. That’s why I ended it. I ended it for Meija. At the time, it was Meija,” he explained.
Also of Ciara, he reacted to his flirty comment on one of her past posts.
“I was trying to be normal … I was drunk. She looked hot,” he reasoned.
Moving on to the reunion, West was questioned about whether Amanda was on drugs.
“She medicated before,” he clarified.
He also spoke of meeting Amanda’s parents, saying it was “good” and “lovely.”
West later expressed hope in reconciling with his Summer House castmates.
“I don’t think my relationships with everyone on this board will be mended, but I do see the light with a lot of people,” he stated. “All you can do in these kinds of situations is try to learn from the mistakes you made and figure sh*t out.”
