The Valley: Persian Style star Reza Farahan copped to having a threesome with celebrity trainer Bob Harper and revealed where he stands with his former Shahs of Sunset co-stars in his new book, Memoirs of a Gay Shah.
In the book, which came out on April 7, Reza revealed he met Bob when they were working as trainers at a studio. After Reza left his job, he started taking Bob’s classes, and they became “inseparable.”
“Bob and I carried on like that for a good while,” Reza wrote, revealing they took their friendship to the next level. “It was very much a friends-with-benefits situation, though. I wanted more, but I always got the feeling he wasn’t interested in any kind of serious relationship with anybody, so I didn’t really push the matter.”
Bob ended up marrying a man named Scott, and Reza shared he became “best friends” with both of them, which eventually turned into a “threesome.”
“The end of this story is a bit bittersweet,” Reza shared. “Poor Scott, whom I honestly harbored no ill will toward, even though I was chasing his husband, ended up passing away. And even though Bob and I didn’t last forever, we remain friends to this day. I actually sold Bob’s house for him a few months ago.”
Reza stated going through this with Bob was “the catalyst for me to realize this is not okay” and that he wanted more than being “second place.”
“I really wanted to have a stable, long-term relationship with someone who was loving and loyal to me and only me,” Reza wrote. “Someone who was choosing to be with me above all others, and not out of desperation, either. Someone who had options, but was still choosing me.”
Aside from sharing personal details about his entanglement with Bob, he opened up on where things stand today with his former Shahs of Sunset co-stars.
“I do talk and see Shervin [Roohparvar], as well as Lilly [Ghalichi],” he noted.
Asa Soltan Rahmati, who was Reza’s best friend at one point, is no longer on speaking terms with him.
Regardless of their lack of communication, Reza shared she “hit me up when my dad died, which was very nice of her.”
“Mike hits me up once in a while, but he’s been very activated because he wasn’t asked to be on the new show,” Reza also added about former co-star Mike Shouhed.
“When he’s hitting me up, he has a complaint or a gripe, and it’s hard to deal with someone who always has a grievance to air with you,” he continued. “But I care about him, and each one of those people for the most part. They hold a special place in my heart because it was such a formative and transformational period in my life, and so many amazing things happened to me. Even the things that weren’t wonderful, they turned out to be great lessons and growth opportunities for me.”
