Tom Schwartz’s girlfriend Kiana Carroll addressed the claim she was on drugs while filming The Valley. The model admitted that she “look[ed] like a diva,” as she reacted to a “red flag.”

In the new season, Kiana filmed a short scene as Tom introduced her to the friend group. Many fans noticed she wore sunglasses the whole time despite being indoors. Kiana is the first official girlfriend that Tom has introduced on camera since his relationship with Katie Maloney on Vanderpump Rules.

On Detox Retox, Kiana shared that she had no desire to film on The Valley, but she did so as a favor to Tom.

“My biggest red flag is wearing f**king sunglasses,” she added, addressing fans’ criticism on social media. “I did not know it was going to offend so many people that I was wearing sunglasses.”

“I’ve never filmed on reality TV before. I was nervous,” she said, via @vanderpodrecaps on Instagram. “Wearing sunglasses feels safe. And then the big thing is everyone’s like, you’re wearing sunglasses, but you keep tipping them down, either have them on or have them off. Having them on felt like a security blanket to me. … I know, whatever. I look like a diva.”

She also mentioned the claim that she has “too big of a personality.”

“So at the same time, you guys are saying I’m coming across as too big of a personality, but then also [have] a weak handshake,” she said. “A lot of things are being thrown out that made no sense, guys. It doesn’t add up. … My handshake is so weak, it’s pathetic. My dad’s giving me s**t for it. Everyone’s giving me s**t for it. I work in an industry where we greet each other with like a hug, a kiss on the cheek. I’m in the fashion industry. We’re not doing like corporate handshakes.”

Later on, she addressed a more serious comment.

“There were a lot of comments that suggested I was high on either coke or weed,” she said. “Both of which I would literally need to go to the hospital because I would have a panic attack. So I can very confidently say not the case. I actually went in there dead sober. If I was on weed, you guys would know because I would be freaking the f**k out. I cannot handle weed.”

“Certainly not [coke either],” she went on. “Also, sorry, mom. Have I been on coke? Yeah. Last time was like six years ago. I’m not kidding. I have not done a drug like that in so long, since I started modeling because I have crazy bad anxiety. I would genuinely freak out and call 911 if I was on coke. … If I’m acting weird, then just like call me weird, but don’t say I’m on coke.”
