The Valley star Danny Booko‘s behavior has been under the microscope on the currently airing third season of the show.

Specifically, the way he speaks to and treats his wife, Nia Sanchez, at times has been addressed.

Nia recently appeared on the Reality Nightcap podcast and addressed the way Danny acts.

In regard to what she says to people telling her to leave him, Nia insisted she has “two trains of thought.”

“There’s different types of comments kind of all around that conversation,” she said. “One is we are in a long-term relationship, and we are committed. And that those were not Daniel’s best moments, but that doesn’t mean that we’re going to stay there.”

She noted she feels like anyone who has been in a long-term marriage or relationship would not throw it away “as long as both people or whomever was like in the wrong is willing to do work and become better.”

“You don’t just like throw away a 13-year relationship, a 10-year marriage because someone was in a window of time where they weren’t speaking kindly or being nice,” she elaborated. “You don’t just throw away – marriage is and can be forever as long as both people are willing to really work on it. So, when people are like, “Leave him,” I’m like, “Y’all saw some fights, and they were not okay for sure.” Let’s acknowledge that. But like, so divorce your husband? No. Okay. No, no, no. We’re going to work on this and become better and stronger. It’s not something you just throw in the trash.”

Nia also spoke out on if her and Danny watch the episodes of the show and then discuss them, realizing this is not the way things should be between them.

Yeah, absolutely,” she admitted. “So we watch the episodes back, and we also – it felt intense in the moment, and then looking back you’re like, “Whoa, that felt even, like looks even more intense than it felt.””

She claimed a lot of people feel like being on a reality show is “kind of like therapy,” as they can see their good and bad moments play back.

“And then… there’s an opportunity to adjust,” she continued. “And so, I mean even after the first like really rough episode when we were in San Diego… Daniel was actually at work all day, but he had seen it on his lunch break and so he texted me immediately and was like, “We need to talk more when I get home, but I want you to know like I love you and I’m so sorry and I’m going to make sure that this is not anything that ever continues because I should never have spoken to you that way.””

She concluded by noting there’s “a lot of awareness” that watching the show back brings.

As Reality Blurb previously reported, Danny recently issued a public apology to Nia for his behavior.

On his Instagram Story earlier this month, he wrote he’s “so sorry” to the person he loves “most,” his “beautiful wife.”

“Watching these last few episodes back hasn’t been easy,” he added. “It was a difficult season of life and a version of myself that I’m embarrassed by and not proud of. A short fuse, stress, alcohol, and lack of sleep are never a good combination, but that’s not an excuse. I should never have taken any of it out on you.”

Danny explained that “balancing parenthood and life can stretch you in ways you don’t fully realize until you see yourself through a different lens.”

“I love, honor, and respect you deeply,” he continued, “and I did not show that in some of these moments.”

“Nia, I love you so much,” Danny concluded. “I’m grateful for you, our family, and this beautiful, chaotic life we’ve built together. I thank God for you every day.”
