Teresa Giudice shared more insight into her hot-mic moment with Danielle Staub before she pulled Margaret Josephs‘ hair on Real Housewives of New Jersey. The star also revealed one of her “biggest regrets” on the show.
In a past season, Danielle asked Teresa if she should pull Margaret’s hair while filming amid their feud. Teresa encouraged her to do it. The scene later shocked many fans, as Danielle held onto Margaret’s hair and yanked her.
In an interview for Allure, Teresa addressed her hot-mic moment.
“When Danielle asked me if she should pull Margaret’s hair … I was like, ‘Yeah, do it,'” said Teresa. “It wasn’t my idea. … I saw the way she was treating Danielle.”
“And then I was thinking, [the] second thing, was [that] this is going to make the best TV ever,” said Teresa. “But I didn’t think she was going to pull it the way she did. … That was all her anger that was built up.”
Teresa was later asked what she regrets on the show.
“I should have kept Louie [Ruelas] more of a secret,” said Teresa of her husband. “That is one of my biggest regrets. And I’m not the one that brought him out … my brother did. Everyone says that whoever you’re with signs up for this. I disagree. They do not sign up for this. My husband did not like any of this, did not know what he was getting himself into, and then came into my world and got hurt. … That is one thing that bothers me every day.”
Earlier this month on Watch What Happens Live, Teresa explained why she reconciled with her brother Joe Gorga and sister-in-law Melissa Gorga last year.
“I did Special Forces with my daughter [Gia Giudice], and she was telling me … ‘You gotta let the anger go with Daddy,’ because it was still bothering me. And I was like, I have to make her a promise that I’m gonna let the anger go. So we were about to start doing the milling on Special Forces, and then I’m always thinking as a mom, like, what kind of lesson can I teach my daughter — daughters. So I was like, I’m not fighting cuz I want to show her that I’m gonna end the fighting,” said the star at the time.
She added, “So when I said that to her, I’m like, ‘I’m not gonna be angry with your dad anymore.’ And then when I got home, it just made me start thinking about my brother. So I texted my brother, and I said, ‘Let’s meet together and let’s talk,’ and ever since we met that day, it’s been great.”
