On the past season of The Valley, Danny Booko and Nia Sanchez definitely had a rough time.
This was largely due to Danny’s drinking and the way he treated Nia being focused on by the cast.
Last night, Danny, 42, and Nia, 36, announced on Instagram that they are exiting the show after three seasons.
“We wanted to share a quick update that we will not be returning to The Valley,” they wrote together. “We’re incredibly grateful for this experience but our priority is protecting our peace and our family.”
“We are fully committed to each other and our beautiful children,” they added. “We want to thank everyone for all the love and support you’ve shown us. Thank you to Bravo and the team for everything. We are looking forward to what the next chapter brings. 🤍”
They concluded by signing the statement, “with so much love, Danny + Nia.”
In the wake of their departure, an insider spoke to Us Weekly to confirm why they were really leaving.
A source noted that Bravo producers “felt their relationship and dynamic with the cast was not as organic as other couples.”
While they didn’t explicitly state it, reading between the lines makes it sound like the pair were let go rather than opting to walk away themselves.
To date, Bravo has not commented on Danny and Nia leaving, and likely won’t, as they rarely comment on casting changes.
Danny was cognizant of his behavior this year, and he ended up issuing a public apology to Nia in May.
In it, he said he was “so sorry” to the person he loves “most,” his “beautiful wife.”
“Watching these last few episodes back hasn’t been easy,” he claimed. “It was a difficult season of life and a version of myself that I’m embarrassed by and not proud of. A short fuse, stress, alcohol, and lack of sleep are never a good combination, but that’s not an excuse. I should never have taken any of it out on you.”
Danny noted that “balancing parenthood and life can stretch you in ways you don’t fully realize until you see yourself through a different lens.”
“I love, honor, and respect you deeply,” he added, “and I did not show that in some of these moments.”
“Nia, I love you so much,” Danny concluded. “I’m grateful for you, our family, and this beautiful, chaotic life we’ve built together. I thank God for you every day.”
