Janet Caperna shared what was cut from season 3 of The Valley, and revealed why she thinks she wasn’t shown as much. The star then shaded costars acting “crazy and extra,” as Lala Kent reacted – and hinted at “editing.”
On the new season, Janet wasn’t featured as often as past seasons. In many scenes, however, Lala defended Janet amid her feuds with various castmates. Some fans have even argued that Lala’s only function on the show was to keep people from speaking negatively about Janet.
On Lala’s “Untraditionally Lala” podcast, Janet was asked if she wished she had more of a storyline in the recent season.
“Yes,” she said, via @vanderpodrecaps on Instagram. “When you have certain people [on the show], I don’t know, being messy, that then it takes away from the everyday stuff that might be a little bit more boring. … It also didn’t help that [my husband] Jason [Caperna] was injured all last season. So he could only film from bed, and that’s only so interesting.”
“There’s only so much of our lives I feel like we could show,” Janet went on. “And then when certain people are being crazy and extra, well, that’s a lot more interesting for reality TV than what’s going on in our daily lives.”
Lala then reacted.
“My storyline [this season] was peace. I finally bought a home, had the baby that I’ve been talking about for a really long time,” she said. “My mom and brother are doing great. Like my life was not falling apart.”
“Which is less interesting, unfortunately,” said Janet.
“Right, and I have no control over like editing,” said Lala. “At the end of the day, like we’re all filming a lot of different s**t, and we have no control over what makes it. And even though it’s real life, it’s really meant to entertain you guys. So we hand it over to people who know how to make that s**t happen.”
Janet said the “toxic” stuff gets covered while other things get “backburnered.”
“And that’s something that we don’t really know until we watch it back,” Janet explained. “And it’s like, oh, wait, around this time, we were talking about having another kid, buying a house, like all this stuff. And it’s, you know, minimized or isn’t there [on the show].”
