90 Day Fiance star Jorge Nava has just been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.
Jorge, 28, appeared in court today to face his judgement, after pleading guilty in August to transporting 286 pounds of marijuana across state lines.
The Bee, an Arizona media outlet, reports that Jorge’s attorney had requested leniency asking the judge to sentence his client to just one year in prison, citing that Jorge was young and very remorseful of his actions. Jorge’s plea deal had called for a jail term of 1 to 2.5 years.
The judge however wasn’t moved and sentenced Jorge to the full two-and-a-half years to state prison. The judge cited the fact that Jorge had three past felonies from California, involving marijuana, between 2012 and 2015.
Unfortunately for Jorge, he must serve at least 22-months before he is eligible to be released.

Jorge was originally arrested back in February after he was pulled over while driving in Arizona. During a search of his vehicle, cops discovered almost 300 pounds of marijuana in his trunk which led to his arrest.
90 Day Fiance Youtuber Keith Brooks was also in court today and reveals that Jorge’s wife, Anfisa Nava, was absent during his sentencing. Jorge’s brother was however present to support him.
Keith adds that Jorge was taken away in handcuffs immediately following the judge’s ruling. He is now currently in prison.
He also reveals that the judge said part of the reason he handed out his harsh sentence is because ‘Jorge did not cooperate fully on who he got the marijuana from and where he was taking it, plus the three prior felony convictions.’ Essentially, because Jorge invoked his right to not speak on his behalf, the judge was unable to determine where the drugs were heading and who had supplied it.
Jorge was also ordered to pay close to $20k in fines. Jorge and Anfisa recently appeared on TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. It is now unknown if Anfisa will continue to film without Jorge.
Anfisa also released a Youtube video today addressing Jorge’s legal troubles. The video was however made before Jorge was sentenced. In the video, posted below, Jorge reveals he doesn’t know why he was pulled over to begin with and feels he was profiled by the police.
