The TLC Network premiered the first episode of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After season 4! Here’s what went down
Ashley & Jay:
The Pennsylvania couple is still trying to figure out their relationship after last season’s snafu. In case you forgot, Jamaican Jay was recently married to Ashley. Ashley got wrapped up in love and agreed to marry the 20-year-old in Vegas, despite all of the red flags and pleading from friends. Fast forward to now, Jay’s newest marital status did not stop him from going onto Tinder.
Ashley demands to know why Jay was talking to chicks on Tinder and attempts to tell Jay that “idle” still means that you are on the dating app. Ashley tells Jay, “Your a*s is about to be idle in this f*cking marriage.” Boom. After leaving Jay on the side of the road, Ashley awaits Jay’s arrival back home and his apology. Seems like Jay has this “I’m sorry” thing down pat, but Ashley reminds Jay that it only took 93 days for him to mess it all up. The lack of trust is something that is going to be the downfall of this relationship, yet Ashley is not ready to throw in the towel…yet. WHERE ARE ASHLEY’S KIDS?!
Chantel & Pedro:
I’m not sure how this is possible, but I am pretty sure that Pedro’s accent has gotten worse. The couple has decided to plant some roots in Savannah, Georgia so they can be far away from “the family Chantel.” Chantel, still as robotic as ever, explains their love story and we are reminded that their families are not quite as compatible as Chantel and Pedro are. The epic family trip to the Dominican Republic went up in flames, the family Chantel hired a private investigator to figure out who exactly Pedro really is, and a big physical altercation between Pedro and Chantel’s brother, River, was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Needless to say, this couple has been fighting an uphill battle since day one.
Whilst sucking down some drinks on their last night in Savannah, Chantel tries to explain to Pedro that it’s hard for her to move away from her family. Pedro pressures Chantel and Chantel tells Pedro that “it’s always” his fault that there is such a family divide. Pedro has yet to apologize to the family Chantel and tells Chantel that before he does that, Chantel needs to “fix the problem you have in your head first.” LOL. Chantel feels like she is drowning in relationship problems after they bickered last night. Pedro feels like he is missing emotional support from his wife, especially when Chantel says she doesn’t want to bring a baby into a chaotic situation with the families. Pedro tells Chantel that no matter where they decide to move, the problems will always follow them. He tells her, “You are perfect. The piece of trash here is me.” Poor guy.
Colt & Larissa:
Larissa still calls Colt, Colt-E, and she is still insane. Colt and Larissa met through social media and after spending only 5 days together, they were engaged to be married. Once Larissa arrived in the US, she learned that her Colt-E is a “cheapie” man who likes to flirt. Larissa and Debbie, Colt’s mom and roommate, do not get along (to put it mildly) and some of Colt’s friends have made it very clear that they were not fans of Larissa. During one fight, in particular, Colt called the police on Larissa, but luckily, she was released from the slammer two days before the wedding. The city of Nevada is charging Larissa with domestic battery and she is awaiting trial, thus making for a prettttttty awkward marriage. Larissa meets with her lawyer to find out her status in America and Larissa tells her side of the story. The lawyer has NO idea what Larissa is saying, so he just nods in agreement. “There’s a constant fear of dread in my household.”
Larissa and Colt-E don’t really speak, despite being under the same roof and Colt laments that Larissa may be found guilty of assault and will be sent back to Colombia. Larissa seethes internally while donning a lace bra during family dinner. When asked by Debbie why neither of the couple is wearing their rings, Larissa explains that she flushed her wedding rings down the toilet, which pretty much represents this marriage as of now. In the words of Debbie, “I think your relationship stinks.” Larissa blames Debbie for the demise of her relationship with Colt and as the women scream back and forth, Colt-E just sits there with a dumb, pained look on his face. He feels stuck in the middle between a bully and a mother and feels as if the trial is the main issue. Colt-E attempts to Dr. Phil Larissa into talking about her feelings and Larissa tells him that she doesn’t want to live with her mother-in-law. Larissa leaves the house and asks the producers to interview her in the car, as she feels “deadly afraid” if Colt-E and Debbie hear something that she is about to say…!
Nicole & Azan:
25-year-old Nicole is back in Florida with her daughter May after a stint in Morocco with her fiancé, Azan. Nicole has a fresh dye job (check out those blond locks) and a fresh outlook on her relationship with Azan. Nicole reminisces about her trips to Morocco and it helps that Azan gets along swimmingly with Nicole’s daughter, but it doesn’t help that Azan’s application got denied for the K1 Visa. Nicole decides to go TO Morocco with her daughter and marry Azan there even after Azan gets caught drunk dialing another woman. However, the wedding never actually happen because of “money issues.”
Nicole returns to the US and is justifying the couple’s newest plan: “We decided to start a shop to get an income and then plan to have the wedding.” HUH?! According to Nicole, the beauty shop is “going,” but in reality, “There is no store.” Man, this girl lies alllll the time and STILL sends Azan money.
Russ & Paola:
They’re expecting, ya’ll! After five years of marriage, the couple is having a baby boy, but it wasn’t always rainbows and butterflies for them. Russ and Paola moved from Oklahoma to Miami so that Pao could follow her dreams to be a model. Paola explains that after her miscarriage, Russ was not there for her and she shut down. But a few months later, Pao got pregnant again and now that she is 5 months along, the couple has been doing better. Russ’s mom wants to throw a baby shower for Paola in Oklahoma, but Pao looks disgusted. Russ has hopes that this shower could be the chance for Pao to rekindle a relationship with his family. While out with some girlfriends, Pao fills them in on the Oklahoma baby shower drama. She doesn’t want to go THERE and wishes they would come to her instead. Paola wants Russ’s family to know she is a good person and that she deserves to be accepted.
Andrei & Elizabeth:
Andrrrrrrrei and Elizabeth seem to be enjoying married life. Frankenstein explains that they are best friends and that they are excited for their unexpected pregnancy. Surprise! They are moving into a property that Elizabeth’s father manages (rent-free!), but they have not moved away from Elizabeth’s “judgmental” family. Even after nearly a year of marriage, Andrei still wants to set some “healthy boundaries” with Elizabeth’s sisters before the baby comes. The sisters are annoyed and offended by this comment and tell her that she is, after all, relying on her father for money, so, therefore, they all deserve to be involved. Because Elizabeth is the breadwinner, she is feeling the stress.
