Is the White House Considering a Pardon for RHONJ Star Joe Giudice After Pleas From Teresa Giudice?

Joe Giudice was released from prison back in March of this year, but he has remained in ICE custody since his release. It’s expected that he will be deported back to Italy, but his wife Teresa Giudice and his family are doing everything to ensure that he stays in the United States.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is hoping that her past relationship with President Donald Trump, who she starred with on Celebrity Apprentice, will result in a pardon, something that could result in him staying with Teresa and their four daughters.

However, the President and The White House have yet to issue any statement about any consideration for Joe. In fact, a new report is revealing that the consideration isn’t even on his radar.

“This has not reached the White House,” the source revealed to PEOPLE, adding, “If it was worth it on the merits, this would be something, but just because [the Giudice family] is asking …”

The source notes that publicity and fame alone isn’t enough to get a pardon.

“Thousands of people have through different means tried to bring different cases” the source continued, “The vast majority of them just don’t warrant the decision.”

Gia Giudice, Teresa and Joe’s oldest daughter, created a petition on behalf of the family to get the attention of the White House. The petition is asking for the President to intervene to help keep Joe in the country. The petition has garnered 84,000 signatures as they now try to reach 150,000.

Earlier this year, Joe completed his 41-month sentence for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. Even though he unsuccessfully appealed to the immigration board after his release, Gia is arguing that her father should stay because he’s not a danger to society.

Teresa has revealed that she has no interest in doing a long distance marriage, telling Bravo host Andy Cohen and her co-stars that she would be leaving Joe if he’s deported. Until that happens, it appears that she’s fighting for him to stay with his family while dealing with other family issues.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is expected to return later this year on Bravo with Season 10.
