RHOBH Star Lisa Vanderpump's Restaurant Sued by Patron Who Claims Hospitalization After Alleged Food Poisoning

SUR, a restaurant owned by Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, is being sued by a patron who claims their food gave her a violent bout of food poisoning.

The restaurant of the Vanderpump Rules‘ star, which stands for “Sexy Unique Restaurant,” is under fire after a customer alleges she fell violently ill after eating at the popular West Hollywood spot.

According to documents obtained by The Blast, the woman filing the lawsuit claims she dined at SUR with her family while on vacation. According to the legal documents, after consuming “white fish covered with an orange cream sauce on her plate, along with broccoli and potatoes…one hour into eating her meal, [her] head suddenly whipped back, causing her body to move backwards as well, as she felt a hot sensation rise from her stomach, into her chest and then into her throat that she was unable to control.”

“[The patron’s] head came forward while vomit filled her mouth, and [she] began vomiting profusely,” the document claims. The woman also alleged that she fell to the floor onto her knees while she “continued to vomit and also defecate through her clothing.”

The patron then alleged that “staff members of [SUR] came over and began throwing water on [her] and on the ground around her but did not offer any further assistance.”

After a family member dialed 9-1-1, the woman was allegedly rushed to Cedars Sinai Emergency Department. According to the lawsuit, the woman spent three days in intensive care and a total of five days in the hospital before being cleared to fly back home.

In the suit, the woman points out that this isn’t the first time SUR has been accused of poisoning patrons with its food. She included several reviews regarding such cases.

Additionally, the lawsuit claims that the establishment made famous by Vanderpump Rules was  “inspected by the Health Department on or around July 14, 2017, during which the Health Inspector found seven (7) violations, including unclean food contact surfaces, the presence of rodents, insects, birds and/or other animals, and substandard equipment and utensils.”

SUR, which has been featured heavily on Bravo reality shows Vanderpump Rules and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, is owned by reality stars Lisa and Ken, along with Guillermo Zapata and his wife Natalie Zapata.

“SUR has been in business for 15 years and serves over 150,000 patrons a year. We have maintained our “A” RATING from the department of health and have regular checks from the health department. We have no record of this ever happening,” Natalie told The Blast.
