RHOA's Kandi Burruss and Husband Todd Tucker Open New Restaurant "Blaze Steak & Seafood"

Kandi Burruss‘ empire keeps growing!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star just announced another business endeavor with husband Todd Tucker: a new restaurant called “Blaze Steak & Seafood,” named after their baby girl, Blaze.

The pair already own a successful soul food eatery, The Old Lady Gang, which they started back in 2016 as an homage to Kandi’s mother, Joyce Jones, and her aunts, Bertha Jones and Nora Wilcox. “OLG” currently has three locations in Atlanta.

Now, the couple is opening a new outpost to complement their various ventures.

Todd celebrated the opening in an Instagram post with a photo of the restaurant and a caption detailing the need for “certain restaurants” in the black community. He said he his proud to be contributing more Black-owned businesses to the area.

“I live in Southwest Atlanta and always asked why we don’t have certain restaurants in our area (Black Area),” he captioned the post. “But I’m not asking any more! I will build what we want and what we need in our communities! They better not let me figure out how to build my own grocery store! #blackowned #buytheblock #liveinourcommunity”

Kandi also shared the news on her Instagram Story, sharing Todd’s post and writing, “Our New Restaurant coming soon!!!!!”

Todd also posted a video tour of the making of the restaurant to his YouTube channel in July, discussing some of the seafood and other meat options that will be available at the spot.

He also noted his concerns around opening a restaurant amid the coronavirus pandemic. Still, he remained hopeful about moving forward with the plan.
