Medical Report Reveals Cause of Death for Below Deck Mediterranean's Captain Mark Howard

Captain Mark Howard’s death was revealed on October 27. The Below Deck Mediterranean star died at the age of 65.

Though he appeared only in season one of the Bravo show, Mark was a captain for nearly three decades with yachting experience all over the world. He sailed from the South Pacific to the Caribbean and Mediterranean using both charter and private boats.

According to a medical examiner report from E! News, Mark’s cause of death was hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Chronic alcoholism was also listed as a contributing factor. The death itself was written as natural.

After he passed in October, many cast members of the Bravo series gave condolences on Twitter.

Co-star Tiffany Copeland posted photos of herself and Mark with the caption, and she wrote the message, “RIP Captain Mark Howard. You were a joy to be around.”

Hannah Ferrier expressed, “Rest In Peace my friend. You were a great captain, friend and colleague. Always the gentleman. You will be missed.”

According to the network, Mark also had his pilot’s license, and he flew helicopters for fun.

Bravo released the following statement on Instagram: “Our thoughts and sincerest sympathies are with the family and friends of the respected Captain Mark Howard. As the captain of the first season of Below Deck Med, he will always be remembered for his many contributions and mentorship and will forever remain part of the Bravo family.”
