However, never one to be disloyal to die-hard fans, Andy also revealed that a spin-off show is in the works involving many of the RHONY veterans, however, Luann will reportedly not be one of them as she’s already signed a separate deal with E! Network.
The new show is being tentatively called Real Housewives: Legacy or RHONY: Throwback. Also, the new spin-off will include major pay cuts that the OG’s are not normally used to.
The new RHONY cast members will reportedly receive $70K for an entire season while the spin-off featuring the veterans will receive $100K.
“Certainly, if Eboni is interested and has friends that would meet our casting goals, then, of course, they would be considered,” he told the outlet.
Andy says he is very invested in cleaning up the iconic RHONY franchise saying that there “a thousand stories to tell,” adding, “We’re looking for a group of women who are real friends and who are of diverse backgrounds, races, and religion.”
As for the RHONY OG spin-off, Andy was vague and talked only in “theory”
“The answer is: Sonja and Luann have been a part of the show — for Luann, from the beginning, and Sonja since Season 3. So, I think, in theory, sure,” Andy said.
This seems contradictory since Lu just signed a new contract with E!? Although both networks are under NBC Universal so, possibly?
“I could talk to you about hypothetical situations involving a lot of people that used to be on the show. I think the good news is, that’s a group that’s all still in each other’s lives,” he concluded.
In other news, while the Bravo Execs are working overtime to save the show, Sonja is wasting no time making sure to look out for her livelihood while her Bravo spin-off role hangs in the air.
She took to her Instagram to tease some adverts for her fans.
Not all hope is lost for Sonja though, as she may have been scrapped from the Bravo RHONY reboot, there’s still an open slot she could fill on the spin-off likely to air on Peacock.
