Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Erika Jayne, is giving a rare glimpse inside her relationship with her son, Tommy Zizzo, and where they currently stand.
Speaking to Bravo Insider, Erika said the two have a “friendship” and revealed that though Tommy may be an adult now, there’s still times he needs mom and a good home-cooked meal.
“I mean, we speak to each [other]. Yes, we are friends. He’s grown. I am [and] will forever be his mother. And, you know, I still have to cook when he comes over,” Erika said laughingly.
Erika also said that her son has no problem making himself at home when he comes for a visit.
“[He’s like,] ‘Can I take a shower?’ ‘Yes, you may take a shower.’ But it’s nice, too, for him to be grown,” she said.
Erika also shared that Tommy, as well as his father Erika’s first ex-husband, Thomas Zizzo, have been a “great support system” for her amid her legal woes, calling her son’s perspective “amazing.”
“My son’s been amazing. I will say this: The silver lining to all of this s–t is that our relationship is stronger. My son and I, we’ve really come together,” Erika shared.
The RHOBH star also recalled fond memories of being pregnant with Tommy during her younger years while living in New York City.
“He’ll be 30 in June. Oh, Jesus. I just remember walking around here in New York being pregnant with him. But he’ll be 30. And so asking him what he thinks about things, you know, you get this adult perspective,” she said. “And it’s really nice.”
Erika went on to share that the two have heart-to-heart talks but also have an unspoken language, especially when it comes to Erika approving or disapproving of her son’s potential romantic partners.
“You know, I’m gonna leave that one alone. But he knows,” she said amusingly. “He knows what I’m thinking. Let me tell you something, the one thing is that child of mine knows exactly what I’m thinking all the time. Sometimes silence says it all.”
In more light-hearted furry news, Erika also gave fans an update on her beloved dog, Tiago, and how the two spend her free time together. No glam, no photoshoots, just the two of them.
“He’s good. He’s at home right now, and I miss him. He’s a sweetheart,” she said sharing what he does while she’s away. “He waits by the door. But he has a sitter. So, it’s fine.”
Erika continued, “Haven’t you seen the lovely pictures, like at the gas station? That’s me, OK,” she laughed. “That’s what I do. I’m not in hair and makeup. I’m in sweats. I’m hanging out with my dog. By the way, I did that every year, this is who I’ve been my entire life. It’s just that this last season became a little bit more public.”
