The future offspring of Caroline Stanbury and Sergio Carrallo has been a topic of debate in their marriage, and Caroline (who already has three children) seems hesitant to begin the journey.
Real Housewives of Dubai‘s power couple discussed several options for reproduction but appeared to disagree on the details. Sergio, who is 19 years younger than Caroline, is passionate about becoming a father.
In a preview for the upcoming episode, Caroline and Sergio revealed an update on their IVF journey.
“I have 85 million espermatozoides [Spanish for ‘sperm’] flying around, it’s incredible,” said Sergio. When Caroline asked what the word meant, her husband answered, “Like this tiny little fish climbing up a mountain.”
In a confessional interview, Caroline added, “Where I am in the IVF process is doing all the hormones and all the injections, which is the most unpleasant part.”
The star also addressed her journey in a recent interview for Watch What Happens Live, revealing she wouldn’t use a surrogate.
“I don’t want to be the oldest mother in history,” said Caroline, via The Daily Dish, and she confirmed that she and her husband have “a fertilized baby. We do have an embryo. Yes, I’m going to carry the embryo.”
In a past episode, Caroline mentioned the idea of surrogacy, but Sergio was quickly against the idea.
“I don’t want someone else to carry it,” he said. “I don’t want to have a baby that doesn’t look like us.”
When Caroline tried to explain it doesn’t work like that, Sergio responded, “I don’t think so, honey. I’ve been reading a lot about it.”
During another confessional, Caroline shared, “I’m very scared to have to do this again… But if I can’t have the baby, Sergio won’t stay… Fact.”
