Just a game?
During a Homeless Not Toothless charity event on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Mauricio Umansky and PK Kemsley played a game that went too far, according to former Housewife Kelly Dodd. In the episode, PK commented that the women “look[ed] nice” before asking Mauricio a controversial question.
“If we had to take the wives out of it, who wins?”
Mauricio answered Lisa Rinna while PK chose Erika Jayne (as both husbands noticed Erika’s short dress).
On an August 11 episode of The Rick & Kelly Show, Kelly revealed her disgust with the men’s actions.
“Oh god, these guys are freaking pigs I had to say. I mean if I didn’t have [my husband] Rick [Leventhal] I would be a man-hater. I’m not lying like I think men in their own genome are pigs. Exhibit A,” she said, via Heavy.
Teddi Mellencamp, another Bravo star and former RHOBH castmate who still has friends in the group, gave her opinion as well, saying she “did not mind the game so much.”
“I love games and I always play those kind of games. Like at my 40th I made all the husbands play that game. But I don’t feel like Mauricio has ever played that game when I’ve tried to get people to play. I don’t think he’s ever played before,” said Teddi on her podcast, Two Ts In A Pod.
Teddi’s co-host Tamra Judge, however, said she “think[s] that’s just a game of trouble.” She added, “I think it was just like PK going like, ‘who would you?’ Or something. I’m like no. Don’t. Don’t.”
As Teddi asked Tamra to pick “one ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ husband,” Tamra chose Mauricio, but she hinted she’s still not on board with PK’s game.
“The thing is that it’s different when it’s a guy… It might be a double standard but it is different when a guy is like what wife would you want? To me I don’t know, the tone was different,” she explained.
Teddi seemingly agreed with the sentiment: “It wasn’t like you said if you have to pick another person but it was like which one would you take and they are all standing there and Erika is practically naked. She’s in the world’s shortest dress – it felt a little, yeah — but I don’t think they meant any harm by it.”
On castmate Sutton Stracke’s Instagram, she appeared to address the game in the caption of a recent post.
“Who cares what the boys say in the corner?” she wrote, alongside a photo of herself with Garcelle Beauvais at the event.
Several fans then offered support in the comments.
“You don’t want those boys in the corner ???????? You both deserve so much more ????????????,” said one user.
“The two of you are too classy for them-they know you are out of their league,” another fan added.
One viewer declared, “Exactly, we don’t care. And that really should have ended up on the cutting room floor with the PK tooth footage.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 is currently airing Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
