After Melissa Gorga skipped out on her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice‘s wedding, multiple cast members on Real Housewives of New Jersey said they weren’t optimistic about the women’s future relationship.
The Gorgas and the Giudices, of course, have a longstanding feud – with occasional periods of détente. In their latest hostilities, Teresa allegedly unearthed a rumor about Melissa’s supposed affair (with an actor named Nick Barotta).
Speaking with E! News’ Daily Pop, Melissa and Teresa’s good friend Kyle Richards addressed the family drama and expressed “it’s such a shame” that Melissa was absent from the ceremony.
“I love both of them,” said Kyle, who thinks Melissa will regret her choice someday. “I became very close with both of them during the Ultimate Girls Trip. I actually do think she will. But I understand very well things happen with family and you make a decision in that moment, but you just can’t get that time back.”
Kyle also shared that Melissa and Teresa’s family drama was the reason she started watching RHONJ. “I could relate more to having siblings and family issues on the show and having to watch that play out,” she explained. “So, I do feel like one day, she would regret that.”
On Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, Teresa and Melissa’s détente was challenged as the two co-stars argued about how Melissa auditioned for RHONJ. According to Teresa, Melissa auditioned under the cloak of secrecy. Melissa, however, disputed this version of events.
“The question came up about how Melissa came on the show,” Kyle explained. “And I was like, ‘I am here for this. I always wanted to know the scoop.'”
Other than the argument, Kyle claimed the sisters-in-law appeared to get along on the trip, “at least from what they wanted us to believe.”
Will the feuding families ever get back to where they once were?
Once were perhaps means tolerating each other’s presence, pretending to interact for the Bravo cameras. This small peace, however, may now be a thing of the past.
