Cast members of Southern Charm reportedly had no idea about Kathryn Dennis’s exit from the show. As rumors of her firing surfaced online, the star released a statement confirming her departure.
Following her confirmation, Kathryn took to Instagram to post a cryptic caption about a phoenix rising from the ashes – after being “burn[ed].” Many fans believe the post verified the previous reports she was fired.
Insiders who spoke to Radar said cast members are unclear regarding her termination, and they don’t know where she stands with the network.
At the time of Radar’s publication, sources said multiple costars didn’t believe she was fired and expressed they had “no idea” what was happening.
The outlet previously reported that Kathryn was allegedly fired after off-camera conflicts, as insiders claimed there were “no-shows,” and she allegedly treated staffers “poorly.”
“I know Bravo didn’t offer her a contract, but when you treat people poorly like she has, they finally get sick of it,” one insider recently told The Sun.
“She doesn’t show up on time or show up at all during filming a lot,” said the source, who alleged she “treats people like they are beneath her.”
According to sources who spoke to Deadline, Kathryn was demoted rather than fired, and will return as a guest star. When Radar contacted Bravo, however, the network gave no comment.
Fans had varied reactions to the news of Kathryn’s exit. Some are satisfied, while others wonder how the show will survive without her.
“Without Kathryn there would be no Southern Charm. Last season the only good parts were her and Madison,” said one viewer on social media. Another expressed, “Not surprised she was barely in last season.”
Kathryn reportedly joined OnlyFans before announcing her departure.
