The production company and network behind Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip just released a statement following an alleged incident between castmates Brandi Glanville and Caroline Manzo.

The statement, made jointly by Peacock and Shed Media, revealed an investigation was launched in Morocco amid filming on the show’s fourth season.

“The safety and security of cast and crew while shooting is extremely important and we take all reports seriously,” said the statement given to PEOPLE. “In this situation, production immediately launched a comprehensive review and is taking appropriate action.”

The outlet previously reported a source claiming Brandi kissed Caroline several times at a party without consent.

“It was unwanted,” claimed the insider. “And Caroline’s distress over the matter did not seem to stop Brandi. Things escalated and physical boundaries allegedly were crossed that Caroline felt were serious and uncomfortable.”

After the incident, production decided to report it to the higher-ups. Another source claimed they continued to film that evening and the next morning as Brandi apologized to Caroline through text messages.

That afternoon, however, Brandi was purportedly removed from the trip. “Brandi’s behavior was inappropriate,” claimed a third source, “so she was asked to leave.”

During the evening, Caroline allegedly decided to exit the show. “She needed to process this outside of the reality TV environment,” said the first source.

The second insider claimed castmates and production supported Caroline’s decision to leave.
