After months of production delays and rumors regarding contract negotiations, Peacock made the official announcement that the Legacy reboot of The Real Housewives of New York City has been given the greenlight.
The series will be making its comeback in the form of the latest installation of the streaming platform’s successful Real Housewives Ultimate Girl’s Trip franchise, and it will be titled Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy.
The news came on Monday, May 15, as the official cast gathered for the NBCUniversal Upfronts event in New York City, and the cast will be comprised of Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Kristen Taekman.
“Over a decade after first appearing on ‘The Real Housewives of New York’, [RHUGT: RHONY Legacy] reunites cultural icons Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and Kristen Taekman as they jet off to beautiful Saint Barthélemy for an epic adventure of a lifetime,” the press release for the series reads.
In an interesting turn of events, the ladies will be filming in the same house located in Saline Beach, which was featured on season five of RHONY and was the site of Luann’s infamous wild night with “The Pirate,” aka Tomas Ribiero.
Check out one of the first photos of the cast together, shared by @QueensofBravoPlus, as they posed with Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix. Sonja was not present at the event as she was attending her daughter Quincy Morgan’s college graduation ceremony.
In a post shared to her Instagram Stories, Ramona captured a separate photo of her and Ariana, “So great meeting the beautiful @arianamadix. An inspiration to all.”
Filming for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy is set to begin this summer. A premiere date will be announced at a later time.
