Lisa Rinna revealed why she quit the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Since news of her exit broke, conflicting reports have surfaced online.
Some fans believe she was fired over her on-screen actions against Kathy Hilton, while others believe she demanded too much money for the new season. Recently, Lisa denied Andy Cohen’s claim that she attempted to return after quitting.
Despite social media hatred against her, many fans are wondering how the show’s drama will survive without her – as she was often the catalyst of storylines.
Speaking with ES, Lisa shared the real reason why she chose to exit the show.
The star indicated that one big factor was the fans’ reactions to her storylines. “I think the world itself has gotten so volatile that the response doesn’t match what we’re doing,” said the alum, via Parade. “I didn’t want to live like that. I don’t think that’s healthy. The way the fan base reacts to the show now is not how it was when I first started.”
Lisa then shared, “We were getting death threats. Some of the most horrible things I’ve ever seen in print in my life, and it’s a reality show! It’s a stupid show.”
After this, Lisa realized it was “time to go.” The star explained, “I’m not sure how much longer that can exist in the zeitgeist, to be honest with you.”
In January of this year, Lisa announced the shocking departure. “This is the longest job I have held in my 35-year career,” said the actress in a statement via People. “I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series.”
She went on to say, “It has been a fun eight-year run, and I am excited for what is to come.”
Her friend and costar Diana Jenkins also revealed her exit from the franchise, though many have speculated she was fired.
