Ubah Hassan, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield addressed the new cast of Real Housewives of New York City, discussed the current season, and teased their upcoming reunion.

For the first time in the franchise’s history, the entire cast was replaced with new stars. While many viewers were excited about the change, other fans vocally opposed it.

Speaking on the talk show Sherri, Brynn revealed she was “relieved” that fans accepted their cast.

When asked if they were glad the cast highlights more of the diversity of New York, Jessel answered, “It’s one of the biggest reasons why I opted in because I think that New York is multiculturally diverse … it’s not just the Upper East Side. There is so much complexity to the city.”

Ubah said the show “got it right this time,” and Brynn then added that it’s “finally” now “reflective of New York … it is the most vibrant city in the world.”

Ubah also addressed the passing of her mother, sharing that she cried in the hospital because “nobody’s going to love me as much as she did.”

Jessel discussed her “four-year journey” with IVF, saying she wanted to be open about “normalizing it, especially in my culture … We really don’t talk about any of that.”

When asked if she was “crushing” on Jenna Lyons, Brynn claimed her flirtation started out as an attempt to see her “blush,” and she later asked herself if she “missed the boat” — as Jenna is now in a relationship.

“I’m watching the show back and I’m like, ‘but she’s cute and like she’s got the house … in the Hamptons. She’s got everything I want,” said Brynn. “I don’t care what’s downstairs in your pants. I care about your wallet … [but] she’s been in a happy relationship, I respect that.”

Regarding their castmate Erin Lichy, Brynn accused her of “play[ing] telephone so many times,” saying it “got disconnected multiple times,” which was the “problem.” She found “irony” in the fact that Erin took Ubah’s telephone.

Jessel shared why she wrote a list of grievances against certain castmates. “I mean, there is so much going on when you’re filming and there’s people talking about you … I was like, I’m about to bullet point this. And guess what, at the reunion when Andy asked me, I have it and I’ve got it time-stamped… Don’t let anyone play you.”

Ubah said the reunion was “a therapy of eight hours,” and they “didn’t know what [they] were doing” because it was their “first reunion.” She explained it was filmed during fashion week, and the castmates were therefore overbooked and tired.

“So we fought and cried a lot,” said Brynn. Ubah then added, “I came Ubah hot.”

According to Brynn and Jessel, Andy Cohen had to tell Ubah multiple times, “‘We’re going to get to that [later],” and Ubah told her castmates not to interrupt her.

The Real Housewives of New York City season 14 reunion begins airing next Sunday, October 22, at 9/8c on Bravo.
