Filming for season 15 of The Real Housewives of New York has been ongoing for a while now. However, there’s now a new cast member, as model and actress Racquel Chevremont has signed on as an official Housewife.
There’s no premiere date for the new season of RHONY, but most fans are happy that all the ladies from the first season of the reboot are back for its second installment.
It had previously been reported that Bravo and the production company had been toying with the idea of a hybrid season of RHONY. This would see some of the OGs join the show with the newer cast members. However, it seems that was just a rumor or perhaps didn’t work out. The cast for season 15 of RHONY also includes Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield. Rebecca Minkoff will be a friend on the show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Racquel is only the second openly queer woman to be on RHONY in the show’s history. Of course, Jenna was first. According to the outlet, she had this to say to GLADD when the announcement was made that she’d be joining:
“My entire adult life has been about representation and using whatever platform I have to get the voices of queer folks of the diaspora out there. What better way to do so if not as a member of this iconic franchise.”
Racquel added, “In the current world climate it’s important for not only our community to see themselves represented, but also for the world to get to know a queer family in a more intimate way and show that we all have more similarities than not. That queer women can be successful, beautiful, and in loving relationships raising children too. That this world exists.”
Racquel brings quite a bit to the table as a new cast member on one of the most talked about reality shows on TV. Not only has she been modeling since the 90s, but she has also appeared on several television shows. Her television credits include Severance, And Just Like That, and Empire.
