Brody Jenner is currently competing in the reality competition series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Of course, many know him because of his family ties and his several gigs in reality television, including The Hills and The Princes of Malibu. Now, he is opening up about where he stands with his family, including his dad, Caitlyn Jenner, and sister Kylie Jenner.
Regarding the Kardashian/Jenner family, Brody is still one of the most well-known, but he has taken a backseat to his more famous sisters. Still, he keeps an active social media presence and has also started a family of his own.
According to Page Six, Brody recently sat down for an interview with The Viall Files to promote his appearance on Special Forces. Naturally, the topic of his uber-famous family arose, and he had quite a bit to say. In general, he admitted that they don’t see each other very often.
According to Brody, “I love them all to death. I just don’t see them.” For context, Brody and his brother, Brandon Jenner, don’t share a mom with his sisters, as they are a blended family.
Regarding why they don’t see each other, Brody explained, “Kim’s busy, Kourtney’s busy. I saw them recently for Caitlyn’s birthday.” Apparently, Kylie wasn’t at the birthday celebration because she was “traveling back from New York.”
He continued, “Everybody’s busy. They’re doing their own thing.” The Special Forces star also says they weren’t all that close when they were younger, either.
“We didn’t grow up in the same household, so it’s not like it’s any different, but when we do see each other, it’s like no time has passed. We are close, but we’re not, like, calling each other every day … but if Kylie or Kendall were to call me right now, I would walk out of this room and pick up the phone. I would be there for them.”
Brody also spoke about Caitlyn having recently apologized for being an “absent father.” He said, “I have a family, I’m over it. I don’t need that relationship that at once I felt like I really needed.”
According to Page Six, Brody also recently had an interview with Bustle where he discussed his sisters and their immense wealth. He admitted, “Kendall and Kylie are my sisters. We have the same last name, but we don’t share a bank account.”
He added, “I don’t get to go on the pink jet, though I would love to.”
Brody also reacted to people thinking he’s “a trust fund kid who doesn’t have to work.” He explained, “It’s funny that people think that, because, first off, my dad never gave any child support. It wasn’t like we were getting any money from the Kardashians ever.”
For context, it has been reported that Brody’s mother, Linda Thompson, turned down child support from his dad. Instead, she got an upfront lumpsum payment.
Fans can watch Brody on Special Forces on Fox on Wednesday nights.
