Jennifer Pedranti reacted to seeing Gretchen Rossi declare on-camera that she’d gone to the hospital after the “naked wasted” debacle of The Real Housewives of Orange County season four on Thursday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
As she also explained why she didn’t give Katie Ginella, 41, a chance to defend herself after she failed her lie detector test, spoke of Slade Smiley‘s phone call to Matt Ginella, and reflected on her recent custody win, Jennifer, 48, confirmed whether ex-husband William Pedranti was paying support, weighed in on Tamra Judge, 58, and her many apologies, offered an update on her upcoming wedding to Ryan Boyajian, 49, and more.
“That was hard for me to watch,” Jennifer admitted of Gretchen’s hospital claim on the September 11 episode of WWHL. “Gretchen and I are becoming really close, and I’ve heard all these stories from Gretchen, but you know what, Andy, she’s never told me that. So to hear her say that, don’t think I didn’t pick up the phone, and I’m like, ‘Girl, what is going on?’”
After calling Gretchen about the scene in question, which seemed to vindicate Katie in regard to her claims about what Gretchen had told her about the incident, Jennifer said Gretchen noted that there was “a lot coming at her that night.”
“She said she was really tired and she said she misspoke,” Jennifer revealed.
As for why she didn’t allow Katie to defend herself after the lie detector test, Jennifer explained that she had already had so “many conversations” with Katie about what Gretchen had told her about the night of “naked wasted.”
“Katie had come to me, and I was asking all the questions to Katie, like, ‘Why are you doing it? It’s not worth it. Let it go. Are you trying to build friendships with these women or not?’ And then to sit there that day, and it was like, she failed, she failed, she failed … I needed a minute,” she shared.
Then, during a game of “Can! You! Defend!?,” Jennifer said she could not defend Katie’s lie detector results, her communication with bloggers, or her alleged planting of stories about the cast. She could, however, defend Katie’s recording of Shannon Beador, 61, and her “c*nt” comment about Tamra.
Moving on to Matt saying Slade called him to make sure he was on Gretchen’s side, Jennifer confirmed he did not do the same to Ryan.
“Gretchen and Slade are like a united — you get one and you get both — and I wasn’t surprised that Slade was asking,” Jennifer said of the call. “It wasn’t even that I felt like Ryan was a part of it. He wasn’t. It was just, to me, it’s all been so muddled, and everybody’s got a different variation, and for me, that’s where it started to get hard.”
When asked about her recent custody win, which saw her gaining full custody of her three minor children, Jennifer admitted the turn of events was a bit “crazy.”
“My ex is just, like we all have seen, he’s just been in a spot. And so it was just becoming a little chaotic with the kids and inconsistencies, and we talked about me taking 100 percent custody, and he didn’t even fight it. He just thought it was best, and that just happened,” she explained, adding that William has not paid her the money she is owed.
Though she and Tamra got to a better place amid filming on RHOC season 19, Jennifer didn’t seem too sure that Tamra’s latest apology was genuine.
“You get kind of exhausted when you’re on the receiving end of all the apologies, but this year, Andy, everybody kept speaking to Tamra being in this low spot and working on herself, you know, going through all this therapy, so you hope, but then she repeats the pattern so then it doesn’t feel genuine,” she admitted.
Regarding Shannon, Jennifer said she was “not surprised” to see that she re-followed Katie, and she claimed her anger at Tamra on Thursday’s episode, where the two battled about their falling out, was justified.
Looking back at the alleged “fatty photo” Tamra showed of her, Jennifer said it was “crazy” that her castmates defined the image in such a way.
“Women go through all kinds of ups and downs in life, and it’s like, what was the intent behind that … Just to me, as sad as it is, it just shows insecurity in Tamra,” she explained.
While Jennifer and Ryan have been engaged since last April, they still don’t have a wedding date.
“We talked the other day about going to the courthouse. [But] I need Dawson. I need Dawson home for a chunk of time. I’m not doing it without the kids,” she revealed.
As for how Ryan reacted to her failing a lie detector test in regard to her apprehensions about getting married, Jennifer said he was “great about it.”
“I was stressing about that, obviously, and then I came home, and when I told Ryan, he’s like, ‘I wouldn’t even expect you to pass that.’ We’ve had so many conversations, Ryan and I, about being married and my hangups about my divorce and how it all went. I was so nervous because I thought he would take offense to it, but he didn’t,” Jennifer shared. “He just said, ‘I’ve walked this with you. I know all your stories about your divorce. I know how much pain and all this crap you’ve gone through. I’m not surprised.'”
Also on the show, Jennifer denied that Tamra was dishonest about wanting to rebuild a friendship with Shannon, said Emily Simpson, 49, was honest about not trash-talking Heather Dubrow, 56, to her kids, and claimed Gretchen didn’t lie about what she told Katie.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 19 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
