Lisa Barlow is opening up about why she was missing from the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast’s camping trip on Tuesday night’s premiere episode of season six.
After becoming a hot topic for the women, despite her absence from the group getaway, Lisa, 50, who was accused of skipping the trip either in an effort to avoid her season five rival, Bronwyn Newport, 40, or a potential confrontation about the legal issues she was facing at the time, set the record straight while also targeting Angie Katsanevas, 51, on Instagram.
“I was working, I’ve always been someone that works since Season 1,” Lisa told Decider on September 16.
According to Lisa, she was attending two movie premieres, including Ben Affleck’s The Accountant 2 and Blake Lively’s Another Simple Favor, at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, at the time of the ladies’ trip.
“For me, this felt important for me to get back to feeling like me. These are the things that make me, me. I’m a true [Sagittarius]. I like to be busy. I define myself by my accomplishments. So, it felt good to be doing something like two premieres in Austin instead of being in an RV,” she explained, adding, “I didn’t miss out.”
After watching the episode play out, Lisa said she was “surprised” to be left out, especially since her co-stars called her amid their getaway.
“I was kind of surprised that I wasn’t in anything and that I was the topic of conversation,” she said. “I was like, ‘This is ridiculous.’”
While there is certainly plenty of drama to come on the remaining episodes of the season, there’s also drama playing out between the cast online. This includes a recent spat between Lisa and Angie, the latter of whom recently announced a partnership with a tequila brand that rivals Lisa’s Vida Tequila.
“I take Codigo everywhere,” Angie told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea in a clip promoting the liquor, via Bravo Snark Side on Instagram.
“I am known to be a shade assassin. It’s part of my brand. Just like Codigo. And it’s not about who did it first. It’s about who does it better,” she continued, seemingly addressing Lisa’s prior claim of her “being a copy.”
After seeing the shade, Lisa didn’t mince words, sharing two posts, the first of which said Angie was “obsessed with me.”
“I make the best tequila so you don’t have to be thirsty,” Lisa added with a second.
