Gretchen Rossi spoke of a recording of Tamra Judge at a music studio on Thursday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live after the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County saw her and her fiancé, Slade Smiley, accusing their co-star of hooking up with a singer.
As Gretchen, 46, attempted to explain her changing story about whether or not she was hospitalized after the “naked wasted” drama of season four, called out Tamra, 58, for not showing remorse, and accused Katie Ginella‘s husband, Matt Ginella, of lying about Slade, 51, she also confirmed she’s no longer friends with Alexis Bellino, 48, shaded Tamra’s comments about being on the spectrum, and more.
“It’s been out for a long time,” Gretchen said of the clip of Tamra on the September 18 episode of WWHL.
She then claimed that her on-camera comment about being hospitalized, after she denied it, came at a time when she was highly emotional about the “traumatic” ordeal.
“Having to relive that whole traumatic situation of a woman trying to get another woman completely naked wasted to do something stupid and set you up, I think that I was just, like, it was a lot, and I was just trying to process it all, and I obviously misspoke in that moment,” she explained. “I never went to the hospital, and that is why I said in my interview, ‘I never went to the hospital,’ and why I passed the lie detector test.”
“I think it was just a lot of stuff coming at me at once,” she continued, “and I think what’s frustrating to me is even in that moment, even when I said that, Tamra still showed no remorse in that moment.”
“Isn’t the interesting?” she asked.
As for Matt’s claim that Slade called him to make sure that Katie, 41, stuck to the story they shared, Gretchen shot down the idea, saying that Matt’s statement was “complete and total BS.”
“Everything that Matt’s saying about that is not even true,” she declared.
Regarding Tamra saying that two people told her that Katie brought it up to them, Gretchen named the parties in question as “Dave Quinn and Kiki [Monique].”
While Gretchen and Alexis were close when they were on RHOC together, Gretchen confirmed they aren’t any longer.
“No. I mean, I don’t have a problem with Alexis, but she sure has a lot to say about me,” she stated.
Moving on to her brief beach make-up with Tamra, which she said lasted “for one minute,” Gretchen was questioned about why she told Emily Simpson, 49, and Heather Dubrow, 56, about the recording studio drama soon after.
“As you see in the scene, they were talking about, we talked about karaoke, and I was like, ‘Maybe [they could play] my song.’ And Emily’s like, ‘Wait, you have a song?’ And then she goes, ‘I’m surprised Tamra hasn’t brought that up.’ And I go, ‘Well, you should think about what Tamra has tried to [do] in the studio and tried to sing.’ It revoked the emotion about her trying to go in a studio and sing a song because Tamra’s been out publicly saying, ’No housewife should ever sing.’ But I had heard this video of her in a studio trying to sing a song,” she explained.
As the episode continued, Gretchen gave Tamra a “three” when asked how much therapy had changed her on a scale of one to 10, and she suspected that the lie detector question in regard to Jennifer Pedranti, 48, and her future with Ryan Boyajian, 49, was a mistake.
She also said that Jenn and Ryan’s marriage would last longer than Alexis’ marriage to John Janssen, 62. And when Andy Cohen, 57, suggested five songs for “pop star” Tamra to sing, Gretchen had an idea of her own.
“It’s called ‘I think I have autism,’” she posed.
Also on the live broadcast, Slade was asked about his involvement in the cast’s drama.
“Tell ’em to quit calling, Andy,” he replied.
Then, when asked if he was annoyed that Tamra brought Jo De La Rosa, 45, to Heather’s party, he said, “No,” explaining that he was “indifferent.”
“Desperate and thirsty on her part,” he added.
As for the recording of Tamra, Slade said he has had it since it was sent to him by the producer of the studio in question.
“But he put it out there publicly. It’s on SoundCloud. It’s everywhere,” he noted.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 19 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
